I think this thread will help you hun - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

The combination of the GA and painkillers can cause post op blues and does with lots of us. The weight gain is due to bloating and possibly constipation because of the painkillers and GA. Your boobs have lots of changes to go through, they will drop, soften, and look more like boobs. I remember thinking mine were like torpedoes. Post op blues hit me a few days in and I felt terrible. Try to keep your chin up and have patience (much easier said than done I know).

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you are feeling low.

By my calculations, you are retaining around 3.5 kgs in fluid. That is a fair amount. It will drain away as you get more mobile over the next few days.

I'm a few weeks ahead of you. During my first week, my boobs also looked crazy- like huge round orbs. I looked like one of those carved wooden ladies that they stuck to the bows of ships in the olden days! As the weeks have past, they have dropped and look more natural- more boob shaped and less semi-circular. They definitely do not look to big now. Oddly, if I look in the mirror now, and at a photo that I took at 4 days post op, there is very little difference so from that I think that the biggest changes have been in my mind.

The first week is the hardest. There is lots of changes to come- physically and mentally.

Hugs,

B xo

I know it is hard when you are feeling so uncomfortable but maybe if you try to get back into your normal routine (without over doing things or doing things you shouldn't be yet - like hoovering or ironing), try going out for a short walk and just forgetting that you have boobs for a while. I think because I had my BA done just 4 days before Xmas and we had my daughter and her boyfriend staying, I couldn't focus on my boobs as much as I would have otherwise done. Also for the bloating try taking a daily pro biotic like actimel certainly helped my body cope with the after effects of the GA combined with all the rich Xmas food. I did find a website that helped me calculate the weight of my implants - forgotten what it was now, but it said that each of my 295 cc silicone implants weighed 1 1/2 lbs - so that explained why I have put on 3 lbs. Hope you feel more positive soon xx

For a good 4 weeks I went through phases of liking / hating them .. Id say only now after its been 3 months I feel happy with them & there are stll things that bug me as they are still settling down.

I bet in a few months the bood greed fairly will come to you lol .. The first few weeks after surgery the swelling is so horrid & they do look gigantic n pointy.

Mine seemed to sit very high on my chest when they were first done and only having a small frame with the immediate post op swelling they were huge, I thought I'd made a big mistake in getting them done. It took about 5 to 6 weeks for them to start settling properley, but now they look so natural although I have just been diagnosed with CC in the left, but I'm hoping this is mild and can beat it with massage.

The swelling in your tummy area is linked to the G.A. and should settle fully in a few days.

I'm sure they'll settle beatifully and you'll love them. XXX

Cheers Kaboobie, I don't know if there is any proof, but all I can say is that at the moment it seems to be helping. I'm seeing my PS on the 18th, It'll be interesting to see what he has to say.

I've read loads on CC recently and have found a few cases where massage and compression have worked for the earlier stages. I would not recommend anyone to do anything without speaking to their PS first - it may be that massage in some cases could be damaging and anyone should always get the go ahead from their PS.
