Mammogram Empty Mammogram

Hi everyone,

I’m going through a stressful time at the moment as my mum is currently having treatment for breast cancer. We are waiting for the results of her genetic test. According to the breast nurse my mum has the worst family history that she’s seen.

Now I have been called for tests etc.

I am just curious to know more about mammograms. When I had my BA I was told that I would have to inform the department that I have had a BA, and they said I’d still be able to have the test but that it would be done in a different machine? I will discuss this with the breast clinic at my appointment in a couple of weeks.

I have ‘furry Brazilians’ so they are textured implants if that is relevant.

Can anyone explain what happens in the mammogram etc please. I have just turned 40 so never had one before.
