Mammogram?
Hi girls,
I just got a call from the hospital saying they need me in before the op the get a MRI scan and a mammogram.
I've had an MRI before, the damn thing gave me a headache! But I've never had a mammogram, can anyone tell me what to expect?

Re: Mammogram?
Hi Sticky!!
I have had these scans a few times.....difficult when you have no boobs and a boney chest...have to get your head and tummy in strange position as they stick out way further than the boobs...and get in the way
It is slighty uncomfortable, quick and great to have results and know all is well before your op. I am due another soon....my poor new babies!!! I believe they do it differently when you have implants though...another reason I was advised unders, as results are more accurate.
Just be prepared for a little and a giggle after xxx

I was laughing talking to my OH about it earlier because I'm not sure if there's anything on one side for them to scan

It's not so much floppy skin, I just think they'd be better off using postage stamps instead of those big plates Mia

Re: Mammogram?
I suppose the thing I'll have to remember is that while I standing there having it done there will only be a few hours between me and surgery!
I've got my mammogram appt for 3.50pm on Tuesday and I'm booking in at 11.30 on Wednesday!

Re: Mammogram?
It's wierd because I'm excited but I'm not really nervous.
At the moment I'm scouring the house from top to bottom, doing all the washing/ironing and moving stuff around so I'll be able to reach it

Re: Mammogram?
It was a bit upsetting telling the girls I would have to spend the night away because we've never been apart since they were born, but I'm making it up to them with a girlie weekend, we've got popcorn for movies and they're having a face mask and getting their nails painted tommorow

Re: Mammogram?
I didn't have and haven't had a mamogram. Was I supposed to? My mum has had a few and she said they are fine, she's a natural D cup, she says they squash them a bit but nothing unbearable. Suppose it's like a smear test but for boobs.
Re: Mammogram?

Re: Mammogram?
Well after my shower last night I sort of squashed my boobs between my hands like the machine would and it wasn't really so bad.
Misf - I think I'm having one just to they've got a good idea of whats going on in there so they'll know exactly where to put the fat.
