Re: symmastia sad and gutted
Awww sweetie, it's perfectly understandable to feel the way you do hunni, when I suffered a complication that required a re-op, I too felt exactly the same hunni.... but I want you to to know there is light at the end of the tunnel hunni, if it's what you want, your boobs CAN be fixed babe, all is not lost. I know how hard it is feeling pushed into a surgery you aren't prepared for, haven't planned for and don't want!
Take some some time before making any decisons sweetie. Research everything to decide what's best for you and when the news has sunk in maybe arrange another consultation with your surgeon to further discuss what he can do for you hun - Big hugs comin' atcha. xx

Re: symmastia sad and gutted
aww hun I'm sorry hun I know how upsetting it is when you find out there is something wrong. I am waiting for my re-op so i know how it feels, if you dont want to go through surgery again then try a thing bra for a while and see how you get on, you might feel differently in a few months!. Like I said before hun, if you loved your boobies before you should still love them now they haven't changed its just that you have been told a name for it. In my opinion your surgeon should NOT charge you for a re-op, it is afterall a surgeon error. xxx

Re: symmastia sad and gutted
he said the implants were to big for my frame as i have a small chest and a large implant they try and meet in the middle,
Didn't he tell you this before the op.?
So sorry to hear how you are feeling. Did this just start to happen , I only ask because your blue ba avatar looked different.
My thought are with you.

Re: symmastia sad and gutted
Aww, sending you hugs bumblelady .
I think you should give the bra a go for a while, it will help keep the implants separated while your tissue heals.
We spend so much money on our boobs that we all deserve to be completely happy with them, a re-op with slightly smaller implants will be a permanent fix, I imagine this is probably the best option for you.
Keep chatting on here for the support, hope you get on OK hunny. xx

Re: symmastia sad and gutted
thanks guys i will try and find some bras, i cant afford the thongbra its around £70,
also i cant go for a smaller implant as the surgon says i would have stretched my skin with these and would have baggy skin,
my surgon didint no this was going to happen,
look at people like jordon who has a tiny frame but huge boobs, she was ok!!!
its my mussle and skin that made it happen they were to weak to stop the implant coming across to far,
im just keeping my fingers crossed that the bras helps and stops it getting any bigger, if they stay like this i can learn to live with them, but if it gets bigger i will have to re-op,

Maybe ask James McDiarmid about whether or not your surgeon would have known if the implant may have have been too large for your chest when fitting hunni.
I know when I was speaking with my surgeon pre-op he gave me a good indication based on my measurements, my skin (which he said was very tight across the chest bone), my implant size and the procedure that some mild symmastia was a 'possibility' and that it should settle by 6 months, if not he would operate again - I was very clear of the possiblity 'pre-op'.
I'm also wondering why your surgeon said you can't go smaller due to you having excess skin if you do.... you CAN go smaller hunni, this is the reason ladies have a lift, but it would mean more work for your surgeon and an additional expense for him. If you wanted to go smaller hunni and not risk this happening again, did your surgeon not suggest the possibility of a lift to remove the excess skin? I know the thought of extra scarring is scary, but hunni, it really isn't as bad as it sounds and to get the look you want without the possible risk from the large implant, then maybe this too would be something to consider?. xx

Re: symmastia sad and gutted
Soo sorry to hear this BL!!
Hopefully James will be able to help put your mind at rest, and provide some greater insight and understanding for you!! Pehaps the bra will work, no harm in trying. Personally, I think your surgeon could be more supportive, and, also provided you with all the pros and cons, before, he undertook your op. It is also said by the ladies who have had a re-op that it is soo much easier and quicker to heal second time round.
Thinking of you xx

Re: symmastia sad and gutted
i have purchased my thong bra, £101.36
ouch
just hope it works now,
none of my bras will work with it also as the thong bra will push them apart and my normal bras hug them together,
i dont mind letting them free, but with this chilly weather everyone will no im cold :heehee:

Awww hun, I know the thong bra is expensive, but from what I've read it's the best thing out there in helping remedy symmastia, at least you'll know you're doing all you can to help yourself sweetness.
Got my fingers crossed for you and hoping the bra does the trick, xx
