symmastia still
Well girls im still here with the same thing,
been nearly 2 years now struggling with it all,
i had my corrective op last feb to correct symmastia and try it make the implant stick down, as well as fixed all the pockets that kept appearing,
I went back to see him in the summer and told him nothing had worked and he said come back in a few months and he will do some research,
I saw him last month and he says i need a smaller implant on my left as mine is to large for my frame which causing the symmastia, and my breast was slightly larger that side anyway,
he wants to ancor down the skin under the breast to stop it drooping any more, re stick the skin down the middle again! and take out the 3 pockets that have formed in there again, and insert and brand new smaller implant,
all sounded good until he said 1. i have to pay as its no ones fault but my own bodys, 2,theres no gaurentee its going to work,
He sent me a quote of how much it was going to cost and i was just left in tears,
the lovely implant people will give me a free implant, but hosp will charge me for staying there, bloke who puts you to sleep wants his money, so does my surgeon, why should he do it for free just cause my body keep rejecting everything,
so at the end of the day im stuffed, i have no money for anything, so stuck with a knackered boob and no way of fixing it,

Re: symmastia still
I'm sorry this has happened to you hun. I would try to get some money together and get some consults with surgeons who specialise in corrective surgery. Maybe try somewhere like Mybreast who are a bit cheaper than independent surgeons who offer longer better aftercare should you need re ops for complications.
Re: symmastia still
I would fight this in order to get a FULLrefund xx
Symmastia is generally due to Surgeon error and now he is saying that you need a smaller implant so in my book, A. he has fitted the wrong size implant in the first place and B. he has put the pockets too close together!!! xx
I can't remember what it's called but there is a name for what HE has done by placing the pockets too close to the middle xx
If I was you write to him, and tell him this is not acceptable and that you are not prepared to let him operate on you therefore you want your money back!! xx I would also then look at taking the company to small claims Court if they do not pay up xx
Sorry for ranting but these Surgeons really P*ss me off!!!
BB don't give up hun xx look at me xx has taken three years to get sorted xx will never have great boobs but they are a lot better xx
I would definitely suggest you go see a Reconstruction Surgeon to get put right xx

Re: symmastia still
Aww hun 2 years !! Must be a nightmare for u !! Iv just had my first Symmastia correction today .... He put in a smaller implant and a lot of internal sutures .... It can be a few things that cause it but it's either implants too big for your frame (which was my case) or surgeon error !! I can't believe u are going to have to pay !! That is disgusting !! My surgeon told me today if this doesn't work then he will keep trying different techniques until it is done ... And I won't have to pay a thing !! Where did u have your surgery done ??

Re: symmastia still
the only thing i would be charged for is the hosp stay which is around £1600 and anest fee of £600,
surgeon doing it for free and free implant,
still no garentee it will work so why bother!
i dont have 2p let alone 2 grand so am pretty stuffed really,
it didint work the first time, the sutures never stuck down, my implant moves all over inside its horrible, when i lay on my back my righty points up and lefty falls down to the side,
im left very upset with the last 2 ops and have no trust at all with my surgeon, i dont want him to touch me again,

Re: symmastia still
Bumblebabe sorry to hear that. After to ops that would be dissapointing. Heres hoping you can get something sorted soon so you can get them fixed. Have you thought about a second opinion. It may help you get around to sugery costs if you can pin it on Dr error.
Just have to say Kay your avi is Fabulous your persistance has paid off!

Thanks L2Run xx
BB xx I would push them to give you your money back hun xx and threaten them with small claims Court xx It should ALL be free xx
I would then go to a reconstruction surgeon and take their advice xx It might be that you have to have the implants removed hun that was one of the options presented to me xx
One thing is for sure, it is clear that you are not happy and this will only be adding to your troubles and getting you even more down xx (that's what happened to me) xx PM me if you want any advice hun or if you wanna sound off at someone xx I've been where you are and it can be a very lonely, desperate place xx You don't have to go it alone xx

Re: symmastia still
i wouldent have a clue of where to start with getting my money back,
i dont want him to do anymore work on more, there is no trust in him at all,
i would rather have someone do it who has done lots of them

Re: symmastia still
And quite rightly so xx
I wouldn't want my old PS near me with a knife and fork!!! xx Totally understandable xx
You write to the company that he works for and explain the story to them, start to finish and how you are unhappy with what he is saying now and telling them you have totally lost confidence and tell them you want the cost of your surgery refunding so that you can go elsewhere xx
If you want to before writing, go and have a consult with a reconstruction surgeon and see what they say xx
If they tell you to sod off you can go through the small claims court to get your money back or most of it anyway and it's really easy to do and you can do it online for a small fee which you will get back if the Court find in your favour xx
ATEOTD, what have you got to lose....? xx
PM me if you want some more info xx
