Driving after BA??
Hello everyone,
Just a quick question, but when can I drive again? I had my BA 5 days ago and was wondering when its ok to drive again? It's driving me nuts being stuck in doors!
When did you all start driving again?

Re: Driving after BA??
I drove on day 10... felt weird and must've looked like an old granny! I had to feed the wheel through my fingers like they teach you to do when you're a learner and had to use two arms to reverse. Just managed 5th gear today... feels weird in my left armpit when I do it so I'm having to drive slower down the dual carriageway to work!
Personally would leave it at least a week but everyone's different. I would just worry if you had to swerve suddenly whether you'd b able to control the car properly let alone causing any harm to your chest area!
Hope you feel okay 5 days in.. x

Re: Driving after BA??
Hiya.I had overs and was driving on day 12 but i did find it a little uncomfortable changing gear+I had to hold the steering wheel right at the bottom! =I do have a classic mini so maybe if you have power steering and all the modern bumf it may be easier!

Re: Driving after BA??
I don't drive but you need to think about whether you could do things like swerve to avoid trouble or if necessary comfortably perform an emergency stop.

Re: Driving after BA??
Hi,
I drove 9 days post op and I had overs. I was fine driving along normally but 3 point turns and manouveres were a bit painful.
They say as long as you can safely perfom an emergency stop you should be fine.

Re: Driving after BA??
.x. i had unders and waited a full 2 weeks before driving ( i think) pretty sure it was 2 weeks. it was fine, not painful but felt "tight" and wierd when turning or changing gears etc. it wasnt bad but just uncomfortable feeling the first few drives, then after that it was ok xxxxxxxxx

Re: Driving after BA??
Think i drove after 9 days. Please be careful though,- i was ok going along the road, as i kept saying to myself boobs, boobs, boobs!!! so that i didn't do any damage!!. However, i kept forgetting to take care, when parking the car, especially when in a car park and you feel you want to park as quick as you can to get out of the way of other cars. Had some very painful stabbing pains when i turned the wheel as i used to pre BA.
Please please take it easy and allow plenty of time to stop and park.
