Sexy stockings & Ice packs
Hi girlies
Had op yesterday so my day 1 is okay so far. Just want to know how long do I need to keep my sexy hospital compression stockings on? And is it true I shouldn't cross my legs?
Also how long do you have ice packs on? Is it like 30 min on, 30 mins off or on all the time?
Is it normal for boobs to feel a bit achey with the ice bags on top?
Xx

Did the clinic not advise you? It's different for each girl, I was told a week, but had a paddy and ripped them off! Hubs made me wear them at night. Keep them on while you're less active, and give the clinic a call to check.
With the ice packs,i guess as long as you're comfortable and they're cold! Achy is fine, they're going to be achy anyway regardless of the packs. But if it's hurting too much, take them off and give them a rest.

I think they did but I cant remember entirely, they might have said at least 2 days but I'm not certain. Thanks for letting me know Charlii. I'll keep them on as long as I can stand them!

Re: Sexy stockings & Ice packs
Went well thanks! Sent you a PM earlier. Not sure if it went through!
Yesterday I was as high as a kite so didn't feel any pain or discomfort. Nurse kept giving me morphine!
Today still no pain but feel like I've got a snake around my chest constricting! Pretty tight. Had my macom on which was nice but they said I have to change it every day to not risk infection. So now I'm in an M&S sports bra, it's feeling a bit uncomfortable under boobs.
How you doing? What bra awe you wearing?x

Hi the idea of ted stockings is to prevent dvt. You wear them when you are less active. Hence why patients wear them in hospital. The hospital will tell you how long you should wear them for. The quicker you become active as in up and about , gentle walking the sooner they come off. The hospital will give you instructions. Hope you are feeling ok. Xx

If you're up and about and walking around then there's really no need for the support stockings anymore....but if you're finding you're quite sedatary still then it's best to keep them on to avoid the risk of DVT.
The icepacks...well, like Charlii said, just use them as and when required. Xx
