Hello lovelies,
Didn't mean to drop off the face of the planet for 5 days after surgery.
The Op went great and the girls look huge (but a little funny, as expected).
I have a couple of questions.

1/ My surgeon used a tape across the top of my breasts after Op, it was itchy within hours and split the same night. as I pulled the edges back gently it pulled my skin off, I spoke to the surgeon and told him, I also said I could fashion one out of bandage but he said that he rather I didn't as didn't want the raw areas to get infected but wondered If it's best to fashion one to help dropping etc?

2/ The bloody ink lol... Yes that blue artwork the Surgeon marks you up with, how the bloody hell do you get it off without getting your dressings wet?
Think my surgeon thought he was Picasso when he drew on me pre-op lol.

Hope you are all doing well and ready for the big day in 7 days, yep it's Christmas yahoo

Xx

Good to hear from you. Hug    .
Best to follow your surgeons instructions & not do anything that could hinder your recovery or perhaps void your aftercare. Your boobs will drop & settle in their own good time, just takes patience & lots of it .
As for pen markings I found my works  hand gel / sanitiser worked a treat to remove the markings, keep well away from inscisions etc though.
Happy healing wishes coming your way.     Stars      XXX

Haha the pen on me lasted at least 10 days and that was showering every day with waterproof dressings! Granted I was being very gentle and not scrubbing away vigorously but it made me look as if I hadn't been washing. Good luck getting rid of yours. I didn't have a tape across mine but I'd do as Mirren and the surgeon say and refrain from making another. Good luck with the healing, take it easy! Xx

Stick with the surgeons advice on the tape, if you go against his wishes it could invalidate your aftercare. As for the artwork, is it that much of a bother? I don't think I even noticed mine! It'll come of eventually, just don't do anything that might damage your dressings.

Glad you're doing well :)

Hey :) glad everything went well for you!
My ink stayed on for ages. After my fist check (11 days post op) I managed to get the rest off but I wasn't that bothered to be honest :)

I had the tape wrapped right round and it irritated like hell but you have to keep it on . It's for compression. Also the pen comes off with alcohol wipes xx

Thank you all for your replies, well appreciated.
I was going to buy a band but after your advice ref invalidating aftercare etc I think I will let nature take it's course.
Ref the ink, not bothering me so much but a friend asked on three different days if I'd not washed or tried to remove it lol...
I've had some shallow baths so far but no showers as was told not to get dressings wet at all until my dressings check. Which is tomorrow morning (Well later today, it's nearly 4am here).
Thank you all again, group hug

Thanks Cookie,
Well I had my wound check done at my local surgery.
What a shambles, she didn't have a clue and I left feeling deflated.
She removed the main dressings and then asked if these bits of tape should be removed, I said I didn't have a clue what was under there and what she should be doing, she pulled one of the tapes back slightly and said everything looked clean and healing well but then patted it back in place and sent me off with a prescription for some waterproof dressings to hunt down.
I did managed to get some Saturday and had a lush shower.
I've been communicating with my surgery co-ordinator today and sent pix of what's there.
Sadly before xmas they can only offer me a check up in Nottingham which there is no way I can make it to there.
She's gone off to see what she can do and I'm now waiting for her call.

Should I have any tape/dressing left over incisions now if there hasn't been any weeping or bleeding.... gggrrr
I knew I should have taken the check up at their clinic last week instead of my own surgery.
