Couple of questions...
I'm a newbie on here. I had 350cc unders exactly 2 months ago. Scared the life out of me with the size and swelling of them at first, but now they're pretty cool

Don't know what happened there but half of my
Post disappeared!!
The remainder of my post was to ask how long the stabbing pains continue for. I'm now 2 months post op and still getting them off and on.
Also, I have something odd going on with my scar on my rt boob. Can only describe it as something sharp sticking out half way across scar. Has anyone else come across this?
Thanks ladies xx

Re: Couple of questions...
It sounds like a spitting stitch, you should give your clinic a call in the morning, and ask what they recommend? I'm 3 months post op and still get stabbing pains, I think they continue until your fully healed inside, so if you've had unders it could take a little longer. X it can take as long as a year to fully heal hun, but mention them when you next see your PS x

Re: Couple of questions...
Is the splitting stitch normally something that goes on its own?

Re: Couple of questions...
Sometimes they can fall out, sometimes they need snipping. But as they poke out of your skin, it is an infection risk x cookie will be able to explain things better than me lol x

Re: Couple of questions...
If you type spitting stitch into the search bar, there are a few threads about them, and lots of cookies advice. Basically saying don't submerge them in the bath, don't use bio oil or lotions on the scars, as it is an infection risk x

Hello and welcome to Breast Buddies blackcat
how long the stabbing pains continue for. I'm now 2 months post op and still getting them off and on.
What you're experiencing hun is the nerve endings healing. This can continue on and off for anything over a year. If the pains are very uncomfortable you'll find icepacks very helpful just placed over the tops of your boobs, never near your incisions though. If you don't have ice packs, a bag of frozen peas/corn/rice will do.
Also, I have something odd going on with my scar on my rt boob. Can only describe it as something sharp sticking out half way across scar. Has anyone else come across this?
This is very common hun. As it hasn't come away by itself make an appointment to see your clinic nurse to get it snipped sweetie, don't try to pull it yourself, you don't know what it might be attached to and you could also risk infection. The nurse snipping the stitch doesn't hurt at all but just helps to release the stitch. Whilst you're waiting to see the nurse as Lisa said babe, no creams, oils or lotions in the area due the stitch now creating an opening.
Enjoy the forum hun. X
Re: Couple of questions...
Thanks cookie, feel better knowing what it is. Main concern now is that I go on my jollies in 4 weeks and don't want to have any problems whilst there.
Have managed to get appt with surgeon on weds so will see what happens then. Xx

Re: Couple of questions...
I'm sure your surgeon will reassure you babe and if you do have any spitting stitches on holiday it would be best to just keep the are clean and dry. Dont go swimming if you get a spitting stitch because remember the stitch makes an opening which is a risk of infection and then just get the nurse to take care of it when you get home.
Chances are you'll be fine though and have a lovely holiday!
Oh.... Another thing to remember for ya jollies babe - keep your incisions FULLY covered. They're very much at risk of pigmentation from exposure to the sun (going brown) until one year post-op. you're also going to need to be extra careful with the rest of your boob area too and keep that covered because with having the skin stretched so much it will be VERY sensitive to sunlight hun and will probably burn.
Other than that if you get the all clear from your surgeon, your good to go! Xxx

Re: Couple of questions...
Well.. alls well that ends well. It was a knot. What I thought was a spittting stitch was actually a knot at the end of the stitch. Surgeon promptly sorted last night so i'm feeling FAB again!
Thanks for the advice ladies definitely put my mind at rest.
Just now need to find a link for some decent bikinis that actually fit!
