Overnight stay with THG
Hi all, I have my surgery booked for the 20th. Will most likely use their transfer service there, but going to get a lift home the next day just to save a few pennies (£110). Does anyone know though what time I'll roughly get booted out the following morning? It's a good 2 hour drive away from home, so hoping it's not something silly like 7am!
What's other peoples overnight experience been like at Dolan Park Hospital?
Thanks!

I got discharged at about 9am, my boyfriend was half an hour late and they let me stay in my room until he arrived! That was with Transform @ Riverside Hospital but I am sure they wont boot you out at 7am! xx

I've just read someone's story on here for THG...and they got discharged at 7am, after obs done at 5am! Uh Oh!!
I wonder if i'll be able to say last minute on the saturday that i'll need to book a car home through them. Can't expect someone to leave at 5am to come get me:/
How is your recovery going? x

They wont 'boot you out', nor will the discharge you unless they are 100% happy with your health. If theres a problem, they'll keep you in until everything is ok.
The morning after I had my obs done around 6am, mega early...but remember, you wont be sleeping properly anyway, and the hospital backs on to a farm, so you'll be waking up with the sheep and cockerels anyway! I was just grateful to get some more painkillers!
If its a worry, theres a Travelodge literally about 10mins from the hospital. We came up the night before as I had a 7am check in, plus to save all the money on the travel. I had my husband stay there the night, so he could be with me as late as possible, and get back to me as early as possible. I think I was discharged between 7-8, left around 9 when I was fully packed and comfortable to leave. Theres not a room Nazi waiting to kick you out!

OK, perhpas 'booted' out wasn't the best term to use, but you know what I mean!
No option of staying up the night of my surgery as I bring my daughter up alone, so folks will be looking after her the day of surgery and then will come to collect me day after. Very very few people know I'm getting it done, so transportation options are limited to my parents.
Oh well, will make do with whatever may be for the return home...I'll perhaps get them to come for 10am.

Yeah I went with THG and they do discharge you very early. They wake you up at 5 and then you're out by 7/7.30 x

I had my drains out etc at 5am :-/ then discharged by 8 but at riverside they said the room was mine until my hubby arrived. He was there by 9. Maybe get your lift to come for 9is. If they kicked you out before that , it would be pretty rotten of them! Or drop your nurse a call ? Xx
