Re: Driving
Hi I'm 10 days away from ba and im wondering the same . My surgeon says 1 week !! I have an automatic so may be easier. No matter how good I felt I think I would give it at least a week. Not worth hurting yourself or those boobies! Xx

Re: Driving
Hi ladies I'm 3 wks post op this coming Sunday. I started driving yesterday. So I've not been driving for just over 2 wks. I must admit my left arm is pretty weak so I'm taking it easy. Also I'm only doing school run and I leave baby at home so I'm not lifting her in and out. Ideally I'd rather have had 3 wks no driving.
Coming up to week 3 I'm defo starting to feel more able and normal tho. Xx

Re: Driving
By the sounds of it I think it depends on the person. Whether you had understand or overs. Lots of different factors. I think we all have different healing times. I'm not going to enjoy relying on others for my shopping etc. lucky for me I don't have to do a school run. Son get picked up and dropped by taxi. Xxxx

Hi
I started driving again 2 weeks after my ba and mastopexy. Reverse and 5th gear were a bit uncomfortable but not to bad, i did find the seat belt across my boobs a bit on the tender side though

100% anne, I've had friends saying oh I was driving 2 days later, I was shopping the next day, bla bla. Great for them but yes we're all different so well said. I think follow your own body , for me , week 3 is allowing me to do a bit more. And ding one Im struggling with reverse and the seat belt.
Ps Anne maybe online shopping g and delivery may help a little ? Xx

Re: Driving
Thanks girls. Yeah I agree with you. I think I'm going to be quite wary of getting back to driving so will probably leave it far longer than I should haha! My partner is hoping to drive us down to his parents for a few days break after my op, prob around a week after, im hoping it will be okay to wear a seatbelt then or might steal one of your tips and use a pillow!! Xx

Re: Driving
My surgeon told me a week and with his permission I left my car at the hosp for a week until my first follow up appt as otherwise it was difficult getting there for 7am. After my fu appt I drove home (1hr) and it nearly killed me! I then didn't drive again until 2.5 weeks post op as I needed to start back at work. On the whole it was ok but I think I pulled a muscle trying to force myself to sit upright and not move/lean going around roundabouts! I had a long commute with 20+ roundabouts! 2 days of driving and I was out of action and sofa-ridden!! After a few days I was ok again but made myself relax more whilst driving and not resist movement. I would say after 3-4 weeks it felt totally comfortable/normal.

Re: Driving
Legally you can't drive for 48hrs after a GA, and you have to be able to perform an emergency stop. Other than that it's down to you. I didn't even try until 3wks, but then I didn't have to. Just take it easy and listen to your body.

Re: Driving
I started driving a week after my BA and was fine, seatbelt was no issue apart from reaching to get it on!
