Re: Family and ba
My family consists of me, my 2 kiddies and my mum. My mum has been supportive of this since the beginning when I felt awful after breastfeeding my last... she cried for me when I eventually showed her and she came to every drs app while pursuing the NHS route and then helped me with consultations and staying with me for 2weeks post op when I then went private (NHS just haven't got the money for it all anymore, even though I qualified).... She's been great, slightly overwhelmed with looking after me and my kiddies and animals for 2 weeks and wants a few days of complete peace now she has gone home haha but she's been brill for me...
glad to hear your mum is supporting you too, it's a shame about your sister, but hopefully she will come round :) xxx

Hey Lacey, only my Hubby and my Mother-in-Law know about me planning my BA, I'm hoping nobody else will notice, or if they do they won't be rude enough to ask lol!
It's good that you have your Mums support hun. Your brother is probably used to teasing you cause your his 'lil sis , but if it makes you uncomfortable tell him and I'm sure he'll stop xx

Re: Family and ba
my recovering actually couldn't have been much better - although my daughter (6yrs) actually caught me anice one on my left one last night as she was over excited and we were messing about a bit...
I have a 9month german shepherd who is HUGE and 2 cats, my 2yr old boy was great - just kept telling him mummy was sore and let him see my incisions and he was brilliant... everytime I get changed now he points at them and says OW! so hes been great, my little girl has been a help and my mum fed and looked after animals and such for a few days, within 4/5 days I was up and about almost normal but struggling with anything too physical as it could pull in my muscle... still does a little now... for example shutting the boot of the var and such, but apart from that im good :) xx

Re: Family and ba
Hey babe,
My husband took the news quite bad at first couldn't for the life of him understand why I would need or want one. After a month of explaining he finally came around to the idea and now he's just as excited as me and cant wait, although he says he isn't looking forward to the attention they're going to bring.......That's his mind working overtime! My mum is supportive and can understand completely why I'm getting them done, I've always wanted big boobs, when I was about 7 my mum says she remembers me rolling socks up and sticking them in my crop tops under my vests! She doesn't however know how big I'm going and she thinks I'm having a small implant
My brother doesn't want me to get one - he can't understand my reasons - he just thinks it's a waste of money. I'm not bothered about him not understanding though as he'll just have to get used to the idea - he also told me not to go big and fake - which I completely am! So overall, yep. I have a pretty good support system! Xx

Exact same reaction from mine, I had to explain that having nice boobs was not going to turn me into an adultererBoney1992 wrote:

Re: Family and ba
My family were pretty against it to start off with, babe. I told my mum and my sister and at first they were so, so against it. My mum thought of the worst and started thinking a BA would either kill me or I'd end up with boobs the size of Katie Price's! However, after months of being unhappy, my mum and sister started to come around and they agreed to come to a consultation with me. I made sure I did so much research about BAs and the statistics surrounding it and I educated my family on all the pros and cons. My mum actually cried after my first consultation.. She was so upset and was so convinced that it would all end tragically. However, after a long-ish time I managed to persuade her and she reluctantly accepted my decision. I've never had a boyfriend and I'm 20 and that is all because I was too self conscious of my flat chest.. so my mum knew of my insecurities and was desperate for me to find happiness and feel normal. So I guess, in a way, she knew that I did need a BA! :) Within 2 months of convincing my mum I had my BA and now she couldn't be happier with my results! On the day of my op she actually said 'Wow they're not even that big are they?' Haha I was like 'cheers, mum, just what I want to hear straight after having a BA haha!'
My mum, dad and brothers and sisters are so happy for me now! They all say I really suit my boobs as they are a perfect size for my frame! Everytime I wear a padded bra they all go 'Ooooh, boobs!' haha.. And even my dad said on the day of my op 'You look so beautiful.. So feminine now!' Again, I was like 'cheers, so I didn't look feminine before hahaha?'
My friends and other people who know I've had a BA all say I look so much better for having it and actually three of my friends are having BAs now just because I had one. I'm really angry about that because I think it's plain copying and I don't think it's necessary for them to have one as well when they've never wanted one before --But hey ho! :)
Your family will all come around, babe! Especially when they realise how happy this is going to make you and even more so when you have had your BA! :):)
Don't worry! If they love you they will support you and join in on the whole excitement and happiness of it all!
Good luck and take care, honey xxxxx

Re: Family and ba
Ive told obviously my husband, mother and sister. My husband had been super supportive about the whole thing. He always reminds me that Ive been going on about it for years and years but he never thought I would actually get it done. Secretly I think he's just as excited as me! My mother and sister seem supportive but I don't really think that they understand why I'm having it done. I don't really want anyone else finding out if possible! Mainly because I don't want to be other peoples gossip - I absolutely despise the way some people talk about women who have had boob jobs. They obviously have no understanding about why someone would do this - to them its all about sex or being a bit loose. They would never think it was because someone is terribly unhappy with their body. I don't want to have to justify my reasons when its no ones business.
I do feel quite sad that I'm not going to tell her one of my closest friends - but I just can't be dealing with the hassle. I wear quite heavy padding at the moment lol so hopefully she won't notice the difference. I suppose time will time and if she does notice I'll explain why I didn't tell her at the time.
Xxx

Re: Family and ba
I agree, it's great hearing everyone's experiences. I told close family and friends, and everyone has been very lovely and supportive - post BA, my female friends are quite fascinated by them (in a good way!) and my Dad and brothers don't mention it, apart from making a little joke about getting a black eye when running. My husband was a little nervous pre BA, but he thinks they look great!
I feel it's important to only tell the people who you really trust. There are some girls who i thought would gossip/bitch etc so i didn't tell them. However, it's been hilarious wearing a tight dress or showing off my cleavage and seeing their faces...you can almost see them thinking "Where the hell did they come from!!!!!??"

Re: Family and ba
I have told my hubby, mum, sister and my 3 closest friends. My hubby and 3 closest friends have been really supportive as they know it's not a decision I have rushed into and have been thinking about it for ever!! My sis is supportive but I don't think she 'truly' understands my reasons. My mum was outraged when I told her, she has since phoned and apologised for her reaction, but think she still doesn't approve!!!
At the end of the day, Ii'm doing it for ME and no one else xx

Re: Family and ba
Boney, I don't mind you asking at all!!
My mum and I aren't very close and I hadn't ever talked about my boobs with her before. I have never been happy with them since they grew (or didn't grow!), but have never been able to discuss it with her. I think she was shocked! Also I've been through lots of gynae probs that have needed operations and I think she feels like this is an unnecessary op so I shouldn't have it done!!! She knows she has no chance of changing my mind or talking me out of it though, so got cross instead of supportive. I've gone through my life without my parents support really so nothing knew!! Xx

Aww babe! At least you have the support of your husband and your friends. I don't think people who don't have an issue with their boobs will ever understand fully why we do this. Good for you to keeping hold tight of your decision and not changing your mind. I bet you are so excited. XxB'sboobs wrote:Boney, I don't mind you asking at all!!
