scars healing..
I was just wondering how long it takes for the scars to heal roughly? I had my BA just over 4 weeks ago and although they are healing they're still quite scabby. I had dissolvable stitches and I know they can take up to 6 weeks to dissolve so do you think that might be why it's taking ages? Or is it normal?... gahhh confused! xx

Re: scars healing..
Hi, babe! I'm about 4.5 weeks post-op and i also had dissolvable stitches. Mine are healing very well but that may be due to the fact that my surgeon's making me wear special tape to improve the healing and appearance of the scars. Everyone heals differently babe. Have you noticed improvement in your scars since week 1? If so, I'm sure they're absolutely fine and it will just take time for them to heal completely. Remember you're still very early post-op!! Good luck in your recovery, honey, and take care xxxx

Re: scars healing..
You're healing perfectly normally Jordan
Scabby scars are absolutely fine and well on the road to recovery. It means they're clean, dry and over time the scabs will drop off all by themselves. Don't worry about how long it takes, or how long it takes for anybody else's to heal, just focus on YOU babe.
You're doing just fine. Xx

Re: scars healing..
I only had tape over stitches for a week and dissolvable but was told to wait till week three before massaging scars , one is starting to flatten quicker but I suppose it's perseverance ...

Re: scars healing..
Mine were scabby and dry for a good 5wk. I think this is natural, coz you're super careful not to damage them or pick at them!! You're body will be healing at its own rate, so don't worry about it. Don't be tempted to start moisturising them early just to remove the scab though, they're there for a reason. Once you've got the OK for massage though, just gently rub in some moisturiser to help slough away the dry skin.

Thanks girls. I know that everyone's different but sometimes reassurance is needed. I haven't done anything to them.. just leaving them well alone to do their thing :) I forget that it's only 4 weeks, its gone so quick it feels longer! xx
