healing scars ??
I'm 4 weeks post op and was told after my 10 day check with nurse to keep putting steri strips on scars, which i have been at 2 weeks the scars were all closed apart from one small hole, at 3 weeks it had closed up, today i changed the strips and the small hole is back with a tiny amount of clear fluid leaking, i have put new strips on and am hopping its because i have overdone things the last few days and reopened it?? it is a very small hole but is this normal at 4 weeks ?? thanks N x

Yes definately keep it covered until it is fully closed, i'm sure it will close up properly for you soon, try not to keep disturbing it and all being well the next time you look it will be fine xx

I would also say if they are still a bit scabby. Soak of the steri strips so as not to pull on the scar/scabs etc. You may well already be doing that. I was told not to change them till they come of.

I think if you ensure they are clean and not rubbing on your bra they will heal fine. If you are over concerned i would call the clinic and ask advice just to put your mind at rest. I think we all go through this and just talking about it helps as does speaking to the nurse or P.S. Take care and good luck!! Let us know how you get on. xx

Re: healing scars ??
It is weird how everyone given different advice..... I didn't get any steri strips, my incisions still look a bit scabby but appear to be closing.
I had a tiny bit that opened on Saturday and that leaked a watery fluid, but it seemed to have closed again by Sunday night after me spending 24 hours worrying about it
I think it was because a seam in the bra cup had been rubbing on it.....

Re: healing scars ??
The little tiny holes tend to be disolvable (sp) stitches working their way out and healing. I had the same thing happen to one of my scars.
I had my stitches out at 10 days post op and had steri-strips put on by the nurse. She told me to take them off after 4 days and just leave the scars open. I kept the little hole all nice and clean with some Savlon wound wash and it soon cleared up.
All the best, Angel x.

Re: healing scars ??
Is that okay to use that savlon stuff on them if they are open, sorry for sounding ignorant, I thought maybe it best to just leave them with nothing?
If it is I'm gonna get some toot sweet!
thanks for the tip
