update healing scars ??
Hi i've had a small hole for over a week that wont close, i've kept it covered with steri strips today i changed it and there was a small bit of white puss and what looked like more puss inside the whole, when i looked closer in a mirror it actually a stitch poking out a gave it a tug but couldnt pull it out not sure if i should as it is quite thick like string, and i did have another stitch come out last week which was more like a clear plastic?? Im worried im going to get an infection and prob wont be able to see a nurse or doc till monday now...N x

Definately dont pull anything as you could cause damage, i would call your ps/nurse and tell them a stitch is poking out and theres pus. Keep the area really clean, maybe use some antiseptic spray on it like Angelpie did after washing and dont use towels to dry, just clean tissue or blow dry x
Re: update healing scars ??
My friends sister who had an uplift and implants got this, she left it for a couple of days before doing anything but she went to see her ps who gave her some antibiotics just incase, like nads said dont rub anything on them make sure you keep them clean.

Re: update healing scars ??
Hi
I was worried about this also and my nurse said that Savlon is good as if there is the start of an infection it can help plus it helps the stitches dissolve. I have been using it a couple of times a day for the last two days and I already have got rid of a few more stitches (plus a warm bath helped dissolve one). My nurse also said that gentle tugging is ok - if with a very gentle tug it comes out then great- if it doesn't just leave it.

Re: update healing scars ??
Hi
I have exactly the same. I use the savlon wound wash stuff after reading angelpie's post and that seems to be doing the trick. I might get some savlon cream today too x
I realllly reallly want to tug those stitches too but have resisted the temptation and they do seem to be closing up slowly but surely. The little holes and stuff inside are more wet after a shower if that makes sense and then dry, over the course of the day. I might try a bath tonight........
good luck

Re: update healing scars ??
I'm not sure if you can have a bath,.......Most of my incisions have sealed over now though, so I just thought it would be okay as long as I didn't soak in it for hours :dunno: maybe check with Gp or nurse first.
I think Renz has had a few problems with a little hole closing maybe PM her for a bit of advice, I'm sure she could help put your mind at ease.
Definitely let me know what they say xx

Re: update healing scars ??
HI, Doctor has said i need some antibiotic ointment to put on hole but it doesnt look like the infection has gone inside:) The nurse wants to leave the stitch till next week as she thinks the whole will close up on its own and doesnt want to risk giving me an infection by pulling it about, the hole does seem smaller today..The nurse thinks i have been over doing it and that is what has caused my scar to open and the stitch i can see is an internal stitch i can see through the hole and its not poking out ??? she said i have to be careful for the next 2 weeks so no exercise for me then ??? Its hard not to do to much as i have a 9 month baby to look after:) Hopefully when i go back next week everything will be ok!!! Thanks N xxx
