STILL different sizes!
HI GUYS!!
I haven't been on here in absolutely aaaages I'm so sorry for leaving but I'm excited to be back I had thought about posting every so often but you know how it is with life!
Anyway it may not be on the best terms that I'm posting now which is rubbish. Basically when I got my boobs done a year ago I was told to have the same size implants, despite my boobs being different sizes before. Anyway now they're healed well I can tell the difference in them and it's driving me mad exactly the same as it did before. One side of my bra is too small, the other has a massive gap because it's too big. It's really getting to me because the size difference was a huge reason for me having my op!!!
What do you think I should do? Should I go back to MYA and speak to them about it? Would anything be done? I feel as though they would just say ohh it's not that bad and do nothing, or I would have to pay to get it sorted out, which I can't afford. Ideally I'd like my left boob (the bigger one) to be reduced an implant size. Grrr infuriating!!
Hope you are all well xxx

Re: STILL different sizes!
Welcome back babe
Your surgeon should have told you if you had some degree of asymmetry pre-op that this would still be there post-op, if not magnified even by the increase in size!
If you weren't informed of this at all, then yes! Absolutely you should go back and discuss the asymmetry with your surgeon and whether a different sized implants would make a difference and why you weren't told that the asymmetry would remain post-op.
This all should have been made very clear to you before surgery hun so that you could make an 'informed' decision. If you weren't given that information then you couldn't possibly have made an informed decision and the surgery can quite rightly be questioned if you're not happy hun. Xx

Re: STILL different sizes!
Yes you should definatly go back! If the asymmetry was the reason for the op in the first place. Your surgeon should have discussed different size implants, or have informed you that bigger boobs would mean that the asymmetry would be magnified.
I think that after a year, having a smaller implant put in the bigger boob wouldn't be an option as your skin would have stretched to accommodate the implant. But your surgeon will be able to offer the best advice hun xx
Do keep us updated, and I hope all goes well xx

Re: STILL different sizes!
I have one boob slightly bigger than the other but my surgeon didn't even realise when he looked at my boobs and he's said he's putting same sized implants in both, do you think I should mention to him that one is slightly bigger or do you think as he didn't even notice it's just something I notice?

Re: STILL different sizes!
I definitely think go back to see the surgeon because it hasn't been fixed! I have been told that if its a significant enough difference to need two difference sized implants, the problem should be fixed, however if it is only a slight difference then it will still be there after because there arnt two implants near enough sizewise to fix a small difference if that makes sense?
Good luck and hope they sort something out for you :) xx

If you're concerned about asymmetry babe and this wasn't discussed at your consultation then yes, go back and see your surgeon to discuss this more indepth.
It may be that having the same sized implants is the best way to go because using a larger implant in the smaller breast may then make this one larger than the other! The degree of asymmetry is what matters when decided how many CCs will help to get you the best look.
You should know though that if there is a small degree of asymmetry there you're still going to have this post-op and the difference may be magnified by having your boobs enlarged.
If in doubt - go and speak to your surgeon hun. X
Re: STILL different sizes!
Oh I don't know whether to bother now :( my surgeon did discuss the asymmetry with me and said what you've just said there Cookie, about it not being worth using different sized implants.
It's just irritating me so much how different they feel even. Like sitting here I can feel that the left one has dropped more and the right one is higher and smaller. I might take some pictures and share with you guys for some opinions xx

Re: STILL different sizes!
Don't forget to include pre-op pics too lovely. It helps to see the pre-op pics to see what the surgeon had to start with. Xx
Re: STILL different sizes!
ok I'll try to get round to doing the pics tomorrow and let you know when ive put them on xx

Re: STILL different sizes!
It won't hurt to ask but to be honest I don't think you'll get anywhere as your asymmetry was discussed and it wasn't big enough to warrant different size implants. Your asymmetry is just magnified now due to having the BA x

Re: STILL different sizes!
If it was discussed then as princess said, going back to see your surgeon is unlikely to get you anywhere.
But if that's not the only issue you have with them, then it's really not gonna hurt to go back and see what he says xx

Re: STILL different sizes!
I had a feeling I wouldn't be able to do anything about it. The first surgeon I went to (Mario Russo) WAS going to give me different sizes, but Mr Traynor had a different opinion. Oh well.
I'm hoping maybe the right one just hasn't dropped properly yet and maybe they'll be more similar then. Is that even possible after a year?!

Re: STILL different sizes!
Honestly.... I don't think so babe
If its causing you this much distress gorgeous the best thing would be to go back and discuss it with your surgeon. You never know what he's gonna say unless you ask sweetheart. Xx

Re: STILL different sizes!
Thanks for the advise cookie, i will mention it to Mr Liew when I see him next, to be honest it isn't really noticeable but I know how they are, I don't think it'd qualify me for a different sized implant but I'll check just to be sure.
Hope your doing ok Laura, keep us updated on your progress xx

Re: STILL different sizes!
Hi again ladies sorry I buggered off again for 2 weeks! I did plan on posting the pictures straight away, what am I like. Anyway I just took the pictures on my phone and I'm adding them to pictrail now.
Standing taking those just then has only confirmed for me that I'm not exaggerating in my head... you can clearly see there is quite a bit of difference.
My picturetrail username is letfreedomsing, send me a message for the password to the new album if you're higher than a newbie poster xxx

Lottie I've just made a pre-op pics album with the same password if you'd like to look. I absolutely HATE those pictures haha.
I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and go back to see them, I feel quite stressed just thinking about it but I mean like you girls have said I've got nothing to lose xx
