Panicking about low profiles Empty Panicking about low profiles

Post by Specialkj 2nd July 2013, 7:44 pm

Hey all, I'm now worrying about low profile implants as they don't seem to be used all that often and hearing they can look flat!!! The projection they will give me is 4.8 cm and my surgeon assures me this will be plenty.

However what I am worried about is I originally got offered 360 and the width of this implant is 13.5 cm but as I like 410cc the width is 14cm and 0.5 cm higher and only 0.2cm more in projection! So I am going bigger but not really gaining much more than just width and height!!

I think I need to see my surgeon again to discuss this as don't want too wider implant and end up with too much side boob.

Then there is the projection thing, I want natural but is low profile going to be wrong??? I know if I see surgeon he will just reassure me but then I keep looking into stuff!!!!

Just when I think I had this sorted!!!

hey

My surgeon is looking at low profile implants too as said I wanted a natural look - he's looking at the 330cc or the next size up the 360cc.  just got back from 2nd consultation to discuss size, etc.

I'm leaving it now til surgery day and decide then!!!!!

If at all worried hun then I would always suggest a 2nd consultation to put your mind at rest. On the final count down to BA day it is very normal to have last minute worries and need surgeons reassurances.

It's normal to have these jitters, I say trust your surgeon. He has seen you and knows what look you are after. If you made it clear you don't want side boob, he will know not to give you an implant wider than your BWD.

Hi rachij, it's great to hear someone else been offered low profiles!!! How tall are u? I am wondering if I need it for the width more than anything.

Thanks misf, Its crazy all this jitters. I'm just worried as my bwd is 13.5 and the 410 is 14cm. Should I just stick to 360 at 13.5cm!?

Princessx- I think I will ring and see if can get another consultation but this would then be my 3rd! I am sure I checked about width with him at my last one and he reassured me then! Maybe I am just being silly!!!

Maybe I should just stick to 360cc then I wouldn't be worrying about this width thing!!!

You're not being silly at all, you're parting with a lot of cash for this and paying the surgeon for his expertise! so don't feel silly at all. If you don't want side boob then going for an implant the width of your BWD is the way to go x

I really understand where you are coming from on this yes And it's good to see others having low profiles :)

I actually had a consultation today with my surgeon as I was worried about the size that I had previously chosen. After looking around online it seems that not as many people seem to have low profiles or implants lower than 310cc.

I had chosen 295cc low profile conical (I asked to look natural) but the moment I tried it on again today I was happy with it. To put my mind at ease I asked to try the next size up which gave me a definite side boob and I thought that in my case going from nothing to a side boob would make me self conscious.

I think that with smaller framed women a little goes a long way maybe?

What I am doing is to keep reminding myself is that if someone had asked me last year I would have said that I would be happy with anything bigger than what I have.

Definitely worth meeting with your surgeon to discuss profiles, that hopefully would eliminate any 'what if's' :)

You have over three weeks yet till your surgery babe so plenty of time to make arrangements to talk this through if you're at all concerned.

Placements are chosen based on your own breast width, so the wider the breast width is, the lower the placement will be be and vice versa.

Having a love profile doesn't necessarily mean the implant will be flat at all, what it does mean is that you need the wider implant width to fill the breast babe.

If you're at all unsure what your BWD is (BreastWidthDimention) then when you go back to see your surgeon you can ask what size yours is and then based on that you you'll then know whether or not the low profiles are the best option babe.

If in doubt... Ask your surgeon hun. Xx

Hey hun i had low profiles and i think they are quite wide looking.. i am wanting to go for moderates next op for a more higher and faker look lol.. They do look extremely natural though so i was happy at the start but my mind has changed about them.. BUT theres nothing a good bra cant do!! haha when these bad boys are pushed together, then BOOM i can get an amazing cleavage.

Definitely make sure you ask your surgeon again and let him know all your worries.. If you want to look at my pics you are more then welcome to :D x

Betterthantoadt- I'm glad u have been put at ease, I think that this is what I need. I will be ringing again today. U are small framed, whereas I am tall so quite big frame and typical pear shape!! Hoping boobs will balance this out slightly.

Thanks cookie- my bwd is 13.5 cm 360cc is 13.5 and 410 is 14cm, this is what worrys me, going 0.5cmmore than my bwd. Projection is only 0.2 cm difference so going bigger is really only giving me more width and height. Do u think I'd be sensible going for 360cc? The projection is 4.6cm ? I know u can't really answer this but ur opinion be amazing!!!

Tsmith - thank u, your avi looks amazing but would appreciate seeing ur pics too, just hard to see low profiles on a lot of the online pics as not that common!

From what I've read babe you shouldn't go any lower or bigger than 1.5 either way, so you'll be fine with the larger implant if that's what you want.

Which implant make are you having hun? X

Ah that's a relief cookie, I'm having nagor cogel moderate height low profile 410cc. XM1. I know I shouldn't doubt my surgeon's opinion and when I was there last I walked away happy, he just seemed so relaxed about me going bigger and I did ask at time if could fit in and he assured me he could no problem! Just hearing u say about 1.5 has put my mind at rest.

I'm having Low profile too..  and am concerned now as I too have been reading loads..  I am tall but slim, around my rib measures 17cm so am now thinking that 295 lp will give me side boob...  PANIC Although when I did meet with GG I said I didn't want side boob.  I will have to give him another call..  But my other worry is that I won't be able to get back to see him before my BA next Friday..

another profile buddy blondiebex, i think sometimes you can read too much, I know i do, and a little bit of side boob isn't necessarily a bad thing as can give you more shape, i'm very straight up and down so a bit on the side wont' be awful and it is quite natural looking too.

Basically it comes to a point where you have to trust the surgeon's decision with what they suggest, but no harm in a phone call if you need that extra reassurance!  We are getting close now, prob why we are having panics about stuff!!!

I know it is at least reassuring that there are a few of us having low profiles as when you google it it seems they aren't the most popular implant to use!
I hope that we are all happy with our lows!
