nervous and panicking!!
Hi girls,
sat on the sofa reading through some posts, and i have had a sudden wave of panic come over me..... not to the point where i won't go through with the surgery but i'm worried something will go wrong.
In particular, cc, bottoming out and my nipples not looking even. I'm having an anchor lift and 340 unders.
I am a real worrier... if there's nothing to worry about, i'll find something!! I'm just worried that something will go wrong and i won't be able to afford to get it sorted out. Just been through the post op complications section which definately didn't help....Did anyone else get nervous like this?
I have total faith in my surgeon and THG.... think i'm just being a wally to be honest. But any reassuring words would greatly appreciated!!

Re: nervous and panicking!!
Hi Amy, it is normal to get excited but look at how many happy girls there are on this forum. They all say that if they had to do it again tomorrow they would. Everything will be so worth it afterwards. It is a life-changing experience really. I want it so much, I wish I could swap my op-day with you - you are lucky! You have a good surgeon and this is something that you really wish, so go for it dear...

Re: nervous and panicking!!
AmyD, It's totally normal to be so nervous I had about 2 serious panic attacks a few days bfore my surgery i couldn't sleep i seriously started thinking of all the bad things that could go wrong w the surgery and/or anesthesia it freaked me out!!I couldn't sleep or talk about anything else...I'm sure my coworkers and friends wr sick of the same conversation but then started thinking of all the positives that would come w/surgery and little by little started feeling better....it's surgery so of course there will be pain but only for a few days...This type of surgery shoul totally be something you do for YOU bcause it's a roller coaster of emotions and feelings some good some bad...Be ready because many of us AFTER surgery got the "the boob blues" a lil depression and overly sensitive!!i wanted to cry thinking what have i done to myself i should've stayed how i was and omg! I have marked my body w/awful scars forever....but with time i would say about the 2wk mark things start getting better u start thinking of the good that will come from ur surgery! I for once in my life have confidence which i seriously laked! not to mention the great physical change u see in the mirror!!
It's normal to be nervous stop reading the complication section and read the positive stories....Think about it something can go wrong by just crossing the street but we must cross the street to get to where we want 99% of the time we find that we will get to our destination safe! Stop thinking ur the 1% that gets hit by car while u cross the st.
positive thoughts doll! Best of luck w any decision u make!!

Re: nervous and panicking!!
I have my BA and lift on one side yesterday and I just looked at my before pictures and took some pictures on them today and it made me cry with happiness. Even though they're a bit bruised and swollen the shape and size is fab. I'm so glad I did it.
I was the same as you, obsessively reading the complications stories too but a good thing to do is look at is general ba section there is over 100 pages and the complications section is 8!! Obviously there are risks which you must consider but there is a slim chance of them happening and if you get cc, it takes time to get to the severe stages so will give you time so save and prepare for the next op. Also you tend to find on a forum like this you mostly get pre op, new post op and people with complications. Those who have had the op and healed well tend not to need a forum like this.
Try not to worry hun, I honestly had the best day yesterday, I'm not in pain, just achy. It went by really fast and they looked after me really well. Good luck with it all! I'm sure you'll be over the moon like I am when it's all done! Xxx

Re: nervous and panicking!!
flower11 and louise,
thank u for ur replies.... i feel much more positive, you guys are right, there are risks with everything and most of the girls on here are soooo pleased with their new boobs. I always focus on the negative and worry myself stupid about things. wish you two girls lived up the road from me, u have a really healthy outlook on things.
flower11, i love what u said about crossing the street....ur so right. I will remember that..... if we don't go for it in life we won't move forward with anything.
louise... bless you hun.... 1 day post op!!! So glad ur surgery went well, its great to hear such a positive outcome. I'm really pleased for you. Keep us all updated on ur progress!! You too are right in what u say, these things need to be kept in perspective. Not my strong point!! But i'm going to save both these previous messages for future reference when i have a wobbly moment.
2 weeks to go!!!
Feeling really excited again now. Thanks so much girls xxxxxxxxx

Re: nervous and panicking!!
Aww your so sweet! I was the same before, I was so worried about everything by the time the day came I just didn't believe it was really happening! I've put my surgery story up if you want to have a read. Might put your mind at rest, I know it helped me as I knew what to expect. I had drains and cannula and neither was as bad as I thought!! So please don't panic, I think it's worse for our loved ones as they have to sit around worrying about you!! if you've got any questions pm me! I honestly think this experience has been so much easier with all the bjsf girls!! Just remember it's totally normal to be nervous!! Xxx

Re: nervous and panicking!!
I read all the things that could go wrong once, I thought about it and decided I could cope with any of the things that could go wrong and then didnt read any negative info at all.
Focus on the good things, I am 17 months post op and I cant tell you how pleased I am I had it done, Its unbelievable just how much difference having boobs has made to me.
Keep your chin up chick you will be fine and when you are on the otherside you will be able to give somebody else this reassurance I have hopefully given you xx

Re: nervous and panicking!!
Glad your feeling more positive, I genuinely loved my day and would do it all over again if I had to! Try not to be nervous because I think youll have a great time, especially if this is something you've wanted for a long time! I didn't realise how much I hated my boobs until now and I'm just so glad my fears of the op and what other people think didn't stop me going for it! I'm not sure if I said it before but I worried so much leading up to the op by the time it came round I was so calm and excited! Reading all the surgury stories is fab because you know what to expect. I think focus on them and stop reading the complications! Xxx
