Holidays!
I have my surgery booked for June 5th but hopefully booking a holiday for the end of august. Would this be safe enough? I read a forum about keeping the scar out of sunlight so not sure whether this is a bad idea...
thanks in advance girlies :) xx

Re: Holidays!
what type of holiday is it? the skin will be very tender still so will burn easily. plus its unlikely that they will look good in a bikini that early on. Also you may still be in a sports bra. I'd say speak to your surgeon about it. I'm going away at 11 weeks post op but it's a city break so no sunbathing/water parks etc for me. xx

Re: Holidays!
its a beach holiday in France... I usually burn quite easily anyway so I usually keep myself plastered in suncream! Worried about swimming etc too especially with the healing scars.. xx

Re: Holidays!
swimming will depend on when you get the go ahead from surgeon. usually around 6 weeks but nothing is a given with a BA your surgeon may say longer for you so you never know xx

Re: Holidays!
Best call and speak with your surgeon as you say babe, then take out insurance as soon as you book, but ensure cosmetic procedures are covered so that if you do have a complication which no surgeon can ever say would 'never' happen, at least you'd be covered for cancellation should you need to babe. Xx
Re: Holidays!
It always makes me a little tense when I see people planning rather big events like holidays and weddings for soon after their BAs. Even minor complications can have a huge negative impact if you have something planned. Cookies suggestion of insurance is a far idea!!! Hope everything goes smoothly for you xx

Re: Holidays!
I wouldn't. You could still be in a sports bra, you may not be given the go-ahead for swimming. You have to keep your boobs & chest area completely covered from the sun for 6 months so you wouldn't be able to sunbathe in a bikini or anything x

Re: Holidays!
Cookie - I will definitely have a look into the insurance option. My sis had hers a few years ago and she went to Greece just under 12 weeks later - i think she got insurance to cover her!
dollydaydream - I was also a little weary when my mum mentioned it. I am a big worrier - I took 4 weeks off following my BA just to be 100% sure id be ready for work!! haha :)
Princess_x - Wouldnt really be much of a beach holiday then :( I am very fair skinned so stay plasted in suncream and avoid lying in the sun too long anyway.. but its definitely not a risk worth taking if theres a chance of complications.
Thanks for ur help girls! xx
