Holidays after BA
I know this is prob a daft question, but I am looking to book a hol in October half term. Im sure my PC said I could fly 2 weeks shorthall and up to 6 weeks longhall and was told not to expose my scars to any sunlight or sun beds is this correct?
I really want to go on holiday in Oct but then I dont want to ruin my new boobs, as long as your scars are covered up properly if I was sunbathing it shouldnt be a problem should it??? Also I would only be 2 and a bit months post op by Oct. Was just wondering how long any of you post op girls waited before you went on hol after you op
Thanx Girls

Re: Holidays after BA
I havent been on holiday with my new boobs yet so lucky you hun, you're going to have a ball the advice your pc said sounds right, maybe double check to make sure, definately keep your scars well covered, maybe with plasters under your bikini as the rays can still get through them x
Re: Holidays after BA
I was told the same, I'm going to Barcelona for 3 days about 4 weeks after the op and was told could fly short haul no problem then :)
Was also told to keep the scars covered up and out of direct sun light x

Re: Holidays after BA
I hav'ent been on holiday as such!! I did have a one hour flight day after op (not too enjoyable) and have done a couple of times since. So the flight would not be a problem. The advice P.S. has given seems to be same as others. Keep scars covered and maybe a factor 50 sunscreen if you find the plasters difficult in heat.
I live in a sunnier climate and sit outside often, just do as above.
Having your pre-op sooner rather than later will enable any concerns to be dealt with before op. also give you opportunity to ask any unanswered questions. Sounds good to me!! xx
P.S. I would'ent swing like your avator when you have your new boobies though!!

Re: Holidays after BA
ok I will make sure I keep the scars really well covered either total sunblock or some sort of dressings/plasters on them. I'll have to check which is best when I go for my next check up at end of May a few days before holiday. Oh yes, I knew about the swimming thing, think it will be ok though because I will be more like 11weeks by then..... & im not going in the sea or anything only pool xxxxxxxxx

I went to Devon about 6 weeks PO, went surfing and swimming while I was there.
I also went to Egypt a few months ago and didn't bother with plasters covering my scars, I just stuck on a load of factor 8 and they've been fine.
Obviously this ont be the case for everyone, so it's best to seek advise from your PS should you be worried
xx
Re: Holidays after BA
I'm going away for 2 wks shorthaul when I'm 8 wks post-op so am hoping to do everything as normal, taking care not to expose scars tho. Planning on a bandeau bikini, something I've not been able to wear for a long time!
