Re: Were your family ok with u having a BA? HELP!! :-S
Awww i hope it goes well hun!!
At the end of the day its something you really want to get done and you're going to get done regardless. I really cant comprehend what your going through as my parents were unbelievable and actually suggested having a BA as i was so unhappy with my boobs. However that said without their support i would be lost as im very close to my family. Just be strong babes, im sure they'll understand.
Good luck and keep us updated! xxx

Hi girls,
So i did it, and as expected it didnt go well at all! :(
I am now thinking i should have listened to those of you who said not to say anything at all.
She started off looking really hurt and upset then looked angry, she tried the horror story thing on with me trying to scare me and i dont need much help in the being scared bit to be honest.
She said i was stupid and it was crazy having an operation when i didnt need to. But its not just a vanity thing i want to feel like more of a woman im a grown woman with little girls boobs! i just want to look and feel nice is that too much to ask!? My sister who i took with me for support was great and backed me up..... But when she said to my mum 'well its not like your going to disown her or anything is it!?' my mum just gave me an evil stare and looked away :( and then said i will talk to u alone! feel like a little kid im scared to death!! me and my mum r so close and i dont feel good about this at all. I cried loads but it didnt seem to get me anywhere!!
i really do wish i hadnt said anything at all now and just done it. :( xx

Oh no hun I really feel for you
I have told my mum and she is ok (she has had a boob job herself a few years back)
But my mum is more like a friend than my mum as I grew up with my grandparents.
I am so scared of telling my Nan as I just know that she is going to go mad. It wont matter what I tell her my reasons are she just hates tattoos, piercings and especially plastic surgery.
I know my nan will try and scare me with horror stories just like your mum but you just have to saty strong.
You said you and your mum are really close so once she has got over the initial shck she will come round.
you just need need to one conversation and just say everything about why/when/how.
Hope she comes round soon huni xxx

Oh hun, i cant imagine how you are feeling!
Its big news for your mum, give her time to absorb what you've told her and im sure she'll understand in her own good time. Chin up, the hard part is over!!

Re: Were your family ok with u having a BA? HELP!! :-S
Your mum will come around sweetheart, my mum was exactly the same as I'd already told you in my earlier post. I had the op and it's like it just didn't happen. I dont go there with my parents and I know they arent understanding of my decision so I just respect that and leave it be, but we're the same as ever and once you've had your surgery, your mum will be concerned of course.. she's a mum and that's her role! But after the surgery is over and there's nothing more she can do to change your mind, she'll be just fine
My own daughter was a member here for a while when she considered having a BA (cookiesmonster) I had her join here because I found it hard to deal with her having surgery and all my protective instincts came into play and I found it hard to advice because she's my baby. I had to really pull myself back and let the lovely girls here guide her as the 'woman' she is and to allow her as an adult to make her own decision, which was bloody hard for me I can tell you, but I'd have entrusted her no where else but here.
I did support 'her choice' though and we researched surgeons together and I went with her but sat back when she had her consultations and he decided on the advice of the surgeon to wait.
But what I'm trying to say is your mum wont stop loving you just because you're having a BA. Right now, she's just scared for you, it's a ntural motherly instinct... but that really will pass, because you're her daughter and she'll love you unconditionally for the whole of her life

Re: Were your family ok with u having a BA? HELP!! :-S
I went to visit my mum for the first time yesterday since i told her about my BA as u all know when i told her she didnt react well so i gave her some time to take it in. She told me she love me no matter what, that was the end of it she didnt want to talk about it or mention it anymore. I guess thats ok if that is how she want to deal with it but being so close to my mum i thought she would have wanted to know a bit about it, she didnt even ask when my op was! Im so excited about it i was hoping i could share that with her. Just glad i have all of you on here to share with. xx

My parents are exactly the same about my BA Pammie, they choose not to discuss it, like it never happened lol.
I just respect their decision lovely. If that's how they want to deal with it that's OK with me. They're both fine with me otherwise as your mum is with you babe, so I know your excitement and how you want to share, but sometimes people just don't want to know, so share it with those who do babe, or keep coming back and telling us!!! haha!
Lovely that your mum told you she loved you no matter what... All of us mums are the same, we love our children unconditional, but bless your mum for telling you, sounds like it was something you needed to hear xx

Yeah you are right cookie as you always are thank you.
I just hate the thought of upsetting her! I will keep sharing it with all of you cause no one else wants to hear about it apart from my boobie friends xxxx
