need to rant
Sorry I need to rant a little,I had to cancel my consultations last week because of two reasons, I wasnt feeling too well and I would have had to travel there on my own. At the beginning my so called best friend said she would stick by me and support me, now I am feeling that she is leaving me in the lurch and I feel even though my mum doesnt approve I feel I am getting more support from her.
My friend and I agreed that we would support each other, she wants to have a Breast reduction. To be honest shes been saying that she really wants it asap but hasnt really done much about it

Re: need to rant
Sorry to hear that hun, i did my BA alone and had no support either, my mum was so weird about it and still is really, its like a taboo subject in the house! Maybe talk to your friend and ask if she still would be there for you. You will always have us on here to support you through it all

Re: need to rant
HI Hun,
I know how you feel. My best friend also promised to support me, she also wants a breast enlargement but has done nothing about it. when i told her th econsult date she was well up for coming with me, then three days before she pulled out.
I was gutted.
Luckily enough a guy that i have been on and off with for the past 5 years said that he wanted to come with me.
you are not going through this on your own though. you have all the BJS girlies! plus you PC will give you so much support! even though your mum may not be in full agreement, she will know how much this means to you and how important it is and will support you.
hope all goes ok hun. x x x

Oh sweetie sorry to hear you're feeling like that. I went through mine alone too which made me feel quite sad but once I'd done it I actually felt quite proud of myself.
Everyone here will be for you.
Lots of love xxxx

Re: need to rant
Sorry you're feeling like u have no support. i haven't really either (apart from hubby) and am going to all my consults on my own - in a way it's actually easier as you don't have to deal with anyone else's opinions, worries etc (people's concerns can often stress u out more i think!). But I know how you feel (my sister hasn't spoken to me for 8 weeks since I told her...)
Nads I know what you mean about the ba being a taboo subject, my mum's like that, it's just now referred to as the "op" but we don't discuss any detail at all - thought she might be ok about it after but actually now i'm thinking it probably won't be mentioned (she did relax about it more when i told her i was only going up 1 / 2 sizes).
As for your friend, there are all kinds of reasons she cd be going funny on you - maybe she's a bit jealous that u r actually doing something about it now while she hasn't plucked up the courage yet for hers? Whatever the reasons I wd just leave her to it, she may have her own issues, and going through a ba is stressful enough without dealing with other people's issues too!
Good luck, this site will get u through it all

my mum was'nt pleased about me having a BA when i told her and would'nt really discuss it, but now i've had it done and shes seen the result she thinks its the best thing i've ever done shes 73 and i'm 48 so maybe like my mum, yours will come around to the idea eventually and support you, as the girls have said, we are all here for you

Re: need to rant
hey hunni
my mum and dad arent best pleased with me getting my ba, dad says im stupid and mum is being a typical mum thinking im perfect the way I am. I dont hav a BF and alot of my friends hav kids so cant come with me. The one friend who says she would has made some stupid excuse now so I'll be going it alone aswell.
At the end of the day I think it will be so worth it for your new boobies and you will be so proud of yourself for doing it if you do end up going it alone.
Its a shame a few of us on here who are booked the same time/hospital cant go together to support each other and we would all be going through the same thing too!! xxx

Re: need to rant
Good to know its not just me LMT! My mum actually said to my sister, so is she going to have those things in her forever now? I have to laugh xlittlemisstiny1 wrote:Nads I know what you mean about the ba being a taboo subject, my mum's like that, it's just now referred to as the "op" but we don't discuss any detail at all - thought she might be ok about it after but actually now i'm thinking it probably won't be mentioned (she did relax about it more when i told her i was only going up 1 / 2 sizes).
Re: need to rant
I know what you mean about not having your best friend there to support you. My friend has known how long i've wanted my ba for (since i was 14!) and thought that she'd really support me, since i've told her we've only spoken about it once, and in that conversation she called me cheap. we're still talking, but just not about my ba. my mum, dad and boyfriend are supporting me so at least that's something.
Not bothered if she agrees with it or not, but i'd appreciate her support x

That's a CLASSIC Nads You should have said ...well I will remove them when you are around
Sorry off topic now!!!
You have all of us here for you joanne!! Your friend may not be at the right stage to make the decision just yet, I and many other girls here done it on their own...it is not anything to be afraid of. Just need to alter your thinking to knowing that you are doing this for you and if you do it on your own you will feel sooooo proud of yourself!!! Makes you a stronger person dealing with the unknown now and in any future issues you are faced with. I found it exciting, rewarding and character building. ENJOY xx
