Post by alipops66 18th May 2013, 9:14 am

Hi girls
I'm sat here really quite nervous and been quite teary this morning. Have been really snappy at my OH when it's probably not warranted. I got so much to do before I go round the house before Monday and he's fecked off on his motorbike despite being out on it all afternoon yest and staying at a mates night before.
I know he will be doing a lot while I'm recovering but it almost feels like he's 'doing me a Favour' next week looking after our little one so he should do everything he wants now.
I have mostly been fine up to now haven't been worried about op at all but now it's 2 days away and feel like I'm in a panic. I weren't worried about anything going wrong but now am frightened about it.
I may be tetchy as im giving up smoking too so maybe I'm being too stroppy with OH but honestly he has wound me up so much this morning might go and find something to bash him with while I can still use my arms xx

Hey,
im pre-ba as you know but just wanted to offer a bit of support.
Its so normal to be nervous, everyone is but you have to remember that everyone of the girls on this site says they loved their day and would enjoy having it all over again! It will be over so fast and then your have the boobs youve always wanted! I nearly booked last year but wasn't able to sleep, i was so stressed about it and i knew it wasnt the right time. Now a year on (although i go through moments of complete panic haha) i feel so much more confident and i know this is what i want to do.
About the OH, very annoying! Its been said on here before that were the ones having the BA but yet it seems like they are with all the worrying and organising we do! Im not sure what to suggest but if i was me in your shoes i would sit down with him and tell him that i need more support from him, that im really nervous and it would be nice if he spend some more time with me? Liked the last comment about bashing him while you could still use your arms haha, this was my other suggestion ;)
Good luck any way and im sure the other girls will have some advice too!
Try to stay calm, your enjoy your BA day im sure :) xx

Go punch a pillow and call it hubby babe! Haha

Seriously alli. The emotions you're going through are all VERY normal.

Nerves have kicked in and now your minds running on overtime thinking about all the things that could happen and even the slightest thing can send you off on one right now.

Your hubby maybe feels he's best out the way whilst you're feeling like this and sweetie... Maybe it's best he is. I know if you're anything like me, little one and all I always got things done far quicker when he wasn't around messing things up behind me.

You're going to be fine babe. Hug take 10 minutes to make yourself a cuppa and have a little read through some of the surgery stories here. They always helped to settle my nerves and bring back some of the excitement reading how happy everyone is after waking.

Everything WILL fall into place Alli. But when you feel your anger bubbling its time to take time out for a minute hun and give yourself a breather

You'll be OK and we're here ANYTIME you need us. Xx

Hug it's perfectly normal to be nervous Hun. You will be absolutely fine, just keep focusing on the end result. As for your OH as cookie said he probably just wants to be out of your way, men can't cope with emotion and he is probably nervous himself about Monday xx

Awwww hun Hug Hug

I kinda went through a similar thing. Had a few mini arguments with OH before the op and I gave up smoking aswell and it was tough ( I haven't thought about a cigarette since I came out of hospital, which is great).

I think they go through a change and mix of emotions aswell as us. OH joined the gym and went for a sunbed. I think he felt a bit left out with me talking about boobies all the time.

He'll come round though.

Don't be nervous. Cookie is right have a look through some surgery stories and look forward to BA xxx

Yer i know! like the other girls have said , maybe you would prefer for him to be out but i personally would rather him to be with me for a bit to take me out and whatnot to take my mind of things. However if hes not good at that sort of thing etc then it might be a good thing hes keeping busy :)
Is the weather nice in devon? here in kent, its horrible! no weather for a cuppa in the garden :( xx

I'm pre ba but thought I'd chip in anyway, sorry to hear you don't feel as supported as you should. I think taking time out for yourself is needed, after doing everything you have to to, have a relaxing bath, put a face mask on and a hair treatment, have a cuppa and watch some of your own choice of tv, or read a book. You're bound to be feeling a mix of emotions, its normal, but just keep reassuring yourself that soon it'll all be done and things will get back to normal, xxx

I can sympathize with that. When I booked my date in for the first few hours I felt awful. I would have thought I would have been bouncing off the walls but I felt guilty and all of a sudden really nervous and like I couldn't go through with it but I think that's just the realization that its finally going to happen. You will be fine Hun Hug
