Why the chest strap?
Hi girls, my doc told me only to wear my chest strap for 24 hours and then I can take it off. I asked for and really hope for low profiles, I don't want my boobs sitting high up on my chest. Will keeping the chest strap on for longer make them sit lower? I see from some of the posts on here that some girls were told to keep the chest strap on for two weeks.

Girls, just bumping this up to see if anyone knows the answers. Does anyone know for definite why we have to wear cheststraps? Is it so that the implants settle down low?

hi hun, i've had high profiles and have to keep the chest strap on for 2 weeks.... i was also wondering about this as i like my boobs where they are, i don't want them lower!! So have been wondering about taking it off?? Is it something to do with whether you've had unders or overs possibly?

Re: Why the chest strap?
Hi Hun I'm 6 and a half weeks po and I've stll got to keepy strap on. It depends on how the implants are dropping as to how long you have to wear it. I should of just had it on 2 weeks but because my rightie is having a little trouble dropping I've got to keep it on longer to give it a helping hand.
Don't worry about the strap having anything to do with the final position of the breast though because the implants will fall into the pocket made for them.

Re: Why the chest strap?
Some docs use this and some don't. I had unders and was told sportsbra for 3 months. No strap. It really depends on their procedures and how they do the op - some docs have patients wear no bra or anything for a month or so!
just follow your PS advice, he knows what he's doing!

Re: Why the chest strap?
I have been told chest strap for 24 hours only and I'm having overs. It must just be surgeons preference for their work?! I imagine the strap must be irritating!!!!!! x

Re: Why the chest strap?
i think the nurse told me it helps for the implants to settle into the pockets.
