Chest strap or no chest strap? Empty Chest strap or no chest strap?

Post by smurfette1000 10th September 2011, 3:21 pm

Anyone had to use a chest strap with "overs" I wasn't given on and am now 5 days post op.. I've taken it upon myself to buy one on the Internet. I asked my surgeon if I could use it he said yes. Anyone not use it or not told to use one? Wonder if I've done any perm damage or won't get the best results because I'm using one so late after the op?

I think it is a strange thing to do to just go and buy one and for your surgeon to just tell you yes wear it if you want. Does he care?

Also overs would usually only be given a strap if you had a problem, you are 5 days post op, so obviously dont have a sign you could have problems with dropping.

If you had needed one they would have given it to after the op, you shouldn't be expected to go out and buy your own. I assumed you only needed a strap if u had unders?...maybe im wrong...

I've aske my surgeon he said I can use one... Suppose then it helps strath the skin by pulling the implant down... Apparently overs do drop?! I bloody hope so!

I think you can be given a strap with overs, depending on the surgeon's preference, but I think it's unusual that he wouldn't give you one but would be ok with you buying one on the internet and putting it on yourself! How do you know where to place it and how tight to make it? If you researched your surgeon, just leave it be, you're already 5 days PO - and they will drop, but give them time!
