Re: September Buddies!
I'm with Gina. My post-op instructions say to commence light exercise from 14 weeks post op, and increase it slowly to be back to normal about 6 weeks. It also said in the first 2 weeks no heavy lifting and used the examples of heavy groceries or a full laundry basket...
Oooops, I'm guilty of both of these!! I'm sure my husband will think I'm making it all up if I say that I can't do stuff like that!
Kiwigirl - I'm really looking forward to getting back to the gym. At the moment I've just been going on long dog walks with a friend, but it's not quite the cardio workout I'm used to!! I was thinking the same as you about the bike, but will leave it probably for a week or so.

Re: September Buddies!
Louise_vaa, I'm glad it's not just me! I have little spots and sunburnt feeling too! And I am dying to start running again. Got another 3-4 weeks before I'm allowed to do any strenuous sports but I have started doing some ab training and light weight for my bicep/triceps. Nothing mad, just enough to keep me ticking over. Still no pain luckily.

Re: September Buddies!
Gla to hear your getting on so well aliwoo!! Im so happy with how well im recovering! Really trying hard not to overdo it. I keep forgetting because i feel fine.
Im going for my 3 week check up next week so I'm going to ask if I can start some light exercise! Walking is not enough! I can feel my arm strength coming back and my boobs move apart when I flex my pecs now! Ha ha!
I saw my incisions for the first time today, it nearly made me faint! They're very neat though! Xxx

Re: September Buddies!
Louise_vaa, woohoo all sounds good. I keep forgetting too! My dressings were taken off yesterday and I was told I don't have to sleep sat up anymore, thank god. Nurse also said if I want a rest from my sports bra and I'm sitting still, I can take it off and let some air get to them! Oh and I can have a shower.

Re: September Buddies!
I was really lucky and had waterproof dressings so could shower straight away. I wonder why they dont all use them? My PS has said I can sleep at night with my bra off. Im so happy about that!! Xxx

Re: September Buddies!
I thought mine were beginning to soften a bit but they feel really firm again today! I'm thinking my previously very comfy sports bra is now too tight. I have ordered some larger ones both back size and cup size. Anyone else had this?

Re: September Buddies!
Aliwoo - I had the soft then firm again thing too. The soft again. For me if kind of happened in conjunction with returning to work... maybe going back and needing to do more made my progress regress a little?? I dunno... but they are feeling softer again now.

Re: September Buddies!
Glad you are healing well Nikita - and I hope the pain has settled a bit now. I've moved on to getting pain on the cleavage side of my right boob - is quite sharp sometimes but Im sure is just part of the healing process.
Shirtripper - fab pics and I cant wait until my boobs are just a bit softer so I can move em, although they are less firm to touch they aren't going anywhere yet!

Re: September Buddies!
Im glad its all resolved, and you feel better now. We all freak out about the new twins from time to time - really is like being a new mother!!
At this stage I guess its all just a bit easier. I am getting some pulling type pains from time to time, its either I'm doing too much or just healing. Either way I'm still being careful.
Boobs are slightly softening but still immoveble - not that Im trying too hard to shift them! I get to actually wear a bra this week - theyve been hanging loose in vest tops for nearly 3 weeks - not sure if looking forward to that or not!
Ooh - laying a bit flatter too but still cant do side so hopefully you'll have better nights this week xx

Re: September Buddies!
Nope only allowed crop tops or support vests because I had slightly tuberous breasts so needed to help the new creases settle in the right place
I was walking around today though (top tip - dont go to westfield at the weekend - it feels like everyone is out to get your boobs!) and would have killed to have a bra on - they are starting to feel like they need the support now.

Re: September Buddies!
I didnt buy anything - it was just too busy. I was hoping to get some sports bras but might go local tomorrow am instead.
Sounds like you had fun on Thurs - glad you and boobs didnt suffer, I think you need to keep them well strapped in for a while yet - for your own good!
Just noticed we had almost the same size - what size bra are you wearing and were you overs or unders hon?

Re: September Buddies!
Thats a great size! Mine dont seem that big but Im wondering if they will et a bit bigger as I had unders.
Enjoy your shower, if you wet the dressings they will come off easier. If you a bit squeamish is there anyone who can change them for you?

Re: September Buddies!
Hope all you September girls are healing well! I had my 3 week check up today and was told I'm healing really well and next week I can wear a normal bra and start jogging! I'm so excited, I thought I'd have to wait another 2 weeks! I think I'll just get 1 underwire bra to start off with as they may change loads still! Hope the rest of you are feeling back to normal now! Xxx

Aww, that's annoying! Why so you have to wait so long? I'm wondering how comfortable it'll be as my boobs don't move much. Xxx
