Hi,

As my mum accept it so do my husband two people always support me no matter what but i;m very worry about mother in-law and her side same as my side too will be not accept it. And i don't know how long can i hide from them as never have any of them have a BA Op before let me know what you ladies think very happy to hear your advice.

Re: Doseyour family know about your boob job?
hi hun, i live with my family, only mum knows about my BA dad and brother dont. I just went for a size that looked how i was in padded bras. I would suggest start wearing padded gel bras before your BA to get people used to it. Its very easy to hide them if you are not going too big. xxx

Re: Doseyour family know about your boob job?
Hi I am pre BA (getting done in September) and only my boyfriend knows. I am very very close to my parents but my dad is old fashioned and he would be very upset if he knew what i was planning. I have therefore decided not to tell them (I may pluck up the courage to tell my mam as I think she's most likely to notice) and Im worried about people at work noticing. But like the other ladies have said, I have started to wear a gel bra now and that is what I will say if my mother-in-law or anyone else notices.
Think BA's are easy to hard in clothes so i think you will be fine x

Re: Doseyour family know about your boob job?
I was worried about telling my family and had decided to try keep it a secret but then i realised that for me it would be so much worse if it was a big 'secret' that suddenly came out so i told everyone. I just made a bit of a joke about it.
If you feel your family wouldn't react well then don't tell them. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't ask - it's not the sort of thing you comment on hun. Try not to worry and just do what you think is best xxx

Re: Doseyour family know about your boob job?
hi everyone, think really i am in the same boat here. my hubby knows and has been really great and supportive to the point he said if u save then your and a bit short of your target dont worry i will sort it. My family on the other hand wont really understand and will just say either "dont be so stupid" or "havent you got something better to waste your money on". i dont think unless you have been in the same kind of situation that you are able to understand the unhappiness it causes. my best friend knows as so does my boss who i have known on a personal level for 6 years (worked for for 5 years). when people say something like oh you dont need that, i look at them and say if i had depression would you say that kind of thing to antidepressants ? my brother knows and has already said i wont tell mum or nan and dont worry i will look after the kids so really apart from them i wont tell anyone tll i have had it done and then its gonna be a noticable difference so wont be able to hide it.

Re: Doseyour family know about your boob job?
I was very open about my BA from the start. My family knew I would eventually do it so it wasn't a big shocker. My grandma told me I was silly and didn't need it but she came around and even watched my kids for a week.
I told some girls at work and it's so nice not having to hide it. I still think it's weird when people stare at them but then I just feel proud of them.

Hi hun, I just told my mum, BF and a couple of really close friends, but no one else knows yet. I'm sure it'll come out eventually but I think the best way is to just let people ask if they ask, it'll be obvious to you but not as much to others.

Re: Doseyour family know about your boob job?
I told my 3 best friends and work incase i needed time off but nobody else at all. Not telling my parents, or any of my husbands family either. I know for a fact all i would get is put downs, comments on how stupid i am etc etc so cant be bothered with it and am keeping it to myself.
If they ask me to my face i will just say "yup i have had it done and nope i didnt want to tell you as its not really anbody elses business" lol. In the nicest possible way tho lol
Im 16 days post op and went from a 34a to a 34 dd sports bra and not one person has noticed or looked at me differently. I used to wear padded bras so its about the same i suppose xx

It sounds like you have a very loving and supportive husband!
And I'm sure you are worrying for nothing. x
I am going to tell my family, and expect them to be fine with it although I know a couple of them will be thinking I should be spending the money on 'something else'. But like Vikki says, would they say that if it were another condition I was trying to improve? I've spent my entire adult life hating my flat chest and being completely depressed about it, so to me it's worth more than any money to finally feel happy and confident!
My in-laws can find out for themselves. I couldn't care less what they think and have no interest sharing any of this with them.
