Re: a little depressed
I hear ya! I was at my worst at 3 weeks, and thought I should have been well on my way to recovery...It's only been a week but I feel so much better. I was very depressed too cause I couldn't do anything including going to the gym, lifting my 15 month old which I did anyway that along with other things I shouldn't have done prolonged my recovery I'm sure. Hang in there, and 4 days is very soon after surgery! :)

Re: a little depressed
Your a day behind me for surgery and that is exactly how I was yesterday. I felt like crying all day. I do think maybe you should take another day or two off work though.... im sure theyd understand,
keep your head up, everything take time and we all know its easier said than done to be patient and ride it out til were healed and back to normal lives. Like shellymae said, i think one of the hardest things is not being able to pick up my baby girl (2yrs) bc shes also having a hard time being told to not come sit on me,and no i cant pick you up when your crying etc...
if you need to talk please pm me, try and keep positive hun xoxox

Re: a little depressed
"Boobie Blues" This is very common about 4 days after surgery and hits you just like Baby blues, probably a combination of not sleeping properly, being uncomfortable and the after affects of GA. Going back to work may give you something different to focus on, but go careful and don't overdo things. xx

Re: a little depressed
i was exactly the same yesterday. My worst day.
Its the post-op blues. Between 3 and 5 days post op, the GA leaves your system and leaves you with a comedown/hangover feeling. Happens to nearly everyone.
You should start feeling better in the next day or two xx

Re: a little depressed
I was thinking about this last night.
I've had three weeks of being so so excited. I'll have to come off that high after my op too. Add no exercising (no endorphins), pain and crazy meds. No wonder you feel bad!
You will feel good with time. This is very normal. Hang in there. Think about shopping for some fabulous underwire bras in 5 weeks time. Spoil yourself.
Hugs,
B xo

Re: a little depressed
We call it the post op blues... very common hun... and it always seems to come around day 3-5.I think it is the combination of the recovery, the affects of the GA, ususally we are most swollen and tender at this point, we have been laid up in bed for days and all the excitement from the pre op days are over... but dont fret it will pass and soon you will be feeling so much better and able to enjoy your new boobies.Stay strong you are not alone, and I promise you will feel like yourself soon only with better boobies! xx

Re: a little depressed
I remember that feeling well. Post-op blues seem to hit around day 3. Like others have said, it's a combination of soreness and after effects of GA. It does pass hun. Keep your chin up and you'll feel better soon.

Re: a little depressed
hope you all feell better soon. it must be hard knowing the op is done and dusted but you can't get back to normal just yet- I am not looking forward to this part. But thank you all for bringing this to my attention - i now know to expect to feel like this and that it is normal.
keep thinking of your fantastic new boobs and that it'll only be a matter of days before you feel much better.xx

I remember feeling exactly the same Leslie. Don't worry hun it is just the 'boobie blues' like all the girls have said. Perhaps going back to work might be good for you, it'll take your mind of things hun. Just try not to do too much.

Yes, im not back to work for a week, although its nice to be home with my family, you feel useless and out of the swing of things, so being at work might help... but please dont strain yourself trying to keep up.... do what you can only

Re: a little depressed
Oh you poor thing, please keep smiling, this is totally normal, I remember so well after my first BA (16 booby years ago) feeling like it for about 2 weeks lol but then again I am a very bad patient. Honestly you'll be fine in a day or two and at least you have the surgery over and done with and you can now look forward to all that lovely shopping. Take it easy at work and try to rest if you get the opportunity

Re: a little depressed
Yes I had this. I kept crying for no reason and felt bad about myself and my new boobs. Day 4 and 5 were my worst
Re: a little depressed
Your still so early in the recovery process hun, It's normal I think to have a little post op blues, I was very emotional the 1st week, I suppose all the build up of nerves/excitement pre-op are to blame. You should start to settle down soon babes and the discomfort will get better too. Day 3 and 4 were my worst as I remember.
Just take it easy hunnie and try not to do to much, you should start to feel better soon.

Re: a little depressed
It was day 5 for me the blues hit. From the day of the op to day 4 I could just feel myself getting better and better with my energy returning and pain getting less and less but on day 5 I crashed. I had a stomach upset, absolutely no energy and was ratty and upset all day, I didn't realise it was so common!
Just remember this is the worst you will feel, you will get better and each day is another step closer to your full recovery.
Take care

Re: a little depressed
{{{{{Leslie}}}}} You will be okay honey! Chin up! It will get better, I PROMISE! I also felt that way-right around the same time actually. I flew outta state to have op, and when I came back home, life just seemd to continue on, 2 kids, school, internship, housework-still sore-pain meds all gone...but I expected things to be SO DIFFERENT-LOL-Nope..I just have fab boobies now! It takes a few to get used to that I think-just keep looking at yourself in mirror, and flash your hubby/boyfriend/girlfriend-or whoever-LOL-The wide eyes looks at your fab new boobies will make you feel better-IT STILL makes me feel good to slowly change in front of hubby-and they pick his chin up off of the floor! hehehehehehe XX

Re: a little depressed
I totally agree with all the girls! I was so down and out about day 4/5 and it is just a combination of everything. You do get back up there on your high where you were once before. It just takes time and it's frustrating that you are still sore and can not do the thing you want to do! I resorted to cleaning the house from top to bottom which I am convinced that prolonged my suffering! Try and stay positive and don't do too much in work. I think the first month your up and down but it's perfectly normal because you want to feel like the woman you were the day before the op, the day after if that makes sense!?!?
Try and stay positive babes, have a nice easy day at work x xx

Re: a little depressed
Thanks everyone, I am having a better day today. I get my bandages off and I finally get to see what they look like, which makes me smile a little bit. I am just waiting for that moment tonight when I get home that I can jump into the HOT SHOWER!! I think having these bandages all over me and being itchy and somewhat nasty feeling (since I havent gotten a TRUE shower since Friday) just kinda had me down in the dumps. Man, I thought I would recover from GA like it was nothing, Im like well im healthy and etc. so I will be fine. Ill go back to work like it was nothing but man oh man it whooped my butt!! I looked tore up Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. I do feel a wee bit better today but I think it's cuz I know I get these stupic itchy bandages off!! You guys makes me feel so warm and fuzzy LOL wish I could give u all a hug!!

Re: a little depressed
@kaboobie-
Hey I just saw you wanted to know how my first day @ work went, OMG it was crazy busy. We had 3 surgeries, and lots and lots of post ops. My butt was dragging, and then I had school after work which I am in nursing school so I was doing my clinicals at the hospital. So I worked from 8 AM to 4 PM and went to school from 5 PM to 10 PM. I WAS SOOOOO TIRED and wore out. I am back at work this morning but there arn't any patients today so I kinda get a little break however I am going back to school tonight. Cant wait until I am back to normal. :)
