No problems at all other than my motivation lol x
I went back to work after 2 weeks and the gym about 6 to 8 weeks after my op xx Took it easy at first and gradually built up to where I had been xx

Yes,- but I had given up the gym for 6 months as I had an enormous amount of work (including heavy lifting) to do in the garden last autumn and as my gym subs ran out in July I decided to give it a break.
The first two sessions were extremely hard work, but it's getting a little easier now - but then I only do aerobic type exercises (mainly treadmill) and the nurse said that I shouldn't do any upper body exercises at least until my 3 month post op check up.
Clinics do vary though, so best check what you surgeon feels is right for you before you start - it's a lot of money to waste if you do something which might mean you have to go back for a re-op because you did something wrong.

I went back to gym with PS permission at 2 weeks but only doing gentle cardio (walking on treadmill, cross trainer without using arms, bikes) and felt fine - went swimming at weekend (nearly 4 weeks) and breast stroke felt very tight but backstroke felt more comfortable. Would like to go back to core stability but often do circuit training type exercises like plank and press ups and there is no way I am going to attempt that yet. xx

They normally say 6 weeks but you'll know in yourself how much you can push yourself. I lift weights 5 days a week and also HIIT training 4 times a week after weights. It’s taken me a few months to be able to get back to the training i was doing pre op and I’m not training chest at all. But as I said you'll know in yourself when you’re ready to push.

Re: when is it ok 2 go back to high impact exercise?
Hi karinakayx
I LOVE body pump! Best work out class ever!
I had unders and at my 6 week check my PS said to get back to it all, as it will in fact help push the implants down and help get the natural look Im after.
I started doing lower body quite soon after the op and started doing light upper body weights a couple of weeks ago, although avoiding the chest and concertrating on the arms. I started push-ups but stopped at 10 cos it felt a bit odd. Not painfull but not quite ready.
So I think you've got it about right, the chest track may take a little longer to get back in to, but you should be good to do the rest.

Re: when is it ok 2 go back to high impact exercise?
I took off 6 weeks, and have been gradually building back up... I do heavy weight training and I am still not back to what I was pre op probably at about 75-80% an I am 3.5 months post op... I am just listening to my body and at the moment everything feels fine it just takes time to re build... I also should mention I am not doing chest at all and dont know when I will. I did boxing classes 3x week pre op and I have not gone back to them as they include a lot of chest work... I do miss them but, in time I will be fine to go back to it all... and the boobies are well worth it !

I'm a gym junkie too. Before op I was doing 15 classes a week. After op I walked from about 5 days post op. I went back to gym 6 weeks and 1 day. Did spinning as its a good cardio workout but not lots of jiggling about. Went back to body pump at 8 weeks post op. x

I go to pole fitness classes but it looks like I will need to take a big break from it as it uses pretty much all your muscles! Will have to try and get on with cardio for a while instead, see if I can shed a few pounds.
