how to tell your family (kids) about ba
Hi ladies, i have a question, how do you tell your closest family mainly your kids that your having a ba?
i have 2 teenage boys, and this is why i find it difficult to tell them because they are boys (15 and 13), im finding it hard to put the words together so that they sort of understand my feelings and the reasons why im having this done, because its not just popping out to see the dentist for a filling is it, it is an operation, and its one ive chosen to have done, where, god forbid something could happen, and then where would they be, they would never forgive me. Im getting a bit deep now, but i am just wondering if there are any ladies on here that could give me some advice on this as its getting close to my ba, and its playing on my mind alot, ive spoke to my oh and he says just tell them straight, men are so blunt though.
Thanks xx

i have 3 girls and 3 older stepsons they all knew why i didnt like going swimming etc.and had seen the changes over the past 6 years with weight loss etc.the girls have seen my constant research on the computer etc.i just told them i'd decided to go ahead with the op,as the time was right.their response yay we get to go swimming now lol.
with yours being older boys i imagine if you say anything they will probably turn all kevin with response's like eerrgg and roll their eyes lol.or why not let dad tell them?

My sons are 16 & 12 and step kids are 17 15 & 12, I just told them straight, but we are an open family, where things and feelings are not kept quiet. All the kids know I hated my boobs before the BA, and not one of them have not understood why I wanted it done.
Kids just seem to accept things anyway. I would definately just come out with it and tell them xx

Re: how to tell your family (kids) about ba
My son was 16 and my daughter was 14 when I had my first BA.
I found it best to choose your wording carefully and to be prepared with all your info so they can read everything too, I told them I was having a breast augmentation because of how unhappy I was feeling about my body, their main concern was how big I wanted to go and the fact that I was putting myself at risk with this being an elective surgery, so I talked through all of my research with them assuring I wasn't going to do a 'Jordan' and my daughter came along with my husband to my consultation, my son didn't want to come. I made it clear to them both that they could ask anything they liked and I made sure I had all the answers for them as best I could.
I also gave them lots of reassurance that I wasn't going to change at all, so no embarrassing mum was going to jump off the operating table LOL, this was just me, having a simple operation to make me feel comfortable with myself
