What do you put on scars?
Hi All
Well as of Wednesday I no longer have to wear the micro tape so I was wondering what I can put on the scars to help them fade? Its not that they are really bad but I want them to fade as much as they can.
I've heard alot of talk about the bio oil, someone mentioned rosehip to me the other day or what about Vitamin E?
Any reccomendations?
Thanks

Re: What do you put on scars?
Most clinics don't recommend you using anything at all on your scars for at least 6 weeks post-op sweetheart as you're still at risk of infection.
Speak to your clinic on wednesday hun and see what they say. xxx

I didn't use anything on my scars and they are barely visible.
Lots of girls recommend bio oil.

Great, thanks ladies. I'm 6 weeks post op tomorrow and not due for a checkup until middle of next month so might just give them a quick buzz.

Re: What do you put on scars?
if you dnt want to buy bio oil as its so expensive, there's another one that does exactly the same thing....called Rescue Oil and its only £2 a bottle....you can get it in cheapy shops like B&M, Home Bargains, Savers.....
or i've also heard you can pierce a vitamin E capsule, and rub the oil onto the scars....obviously you have to be 6 wks post op tho. a surgeon recommended the vit E tip to me x x

You can also get those silicone sheet by circa-care or dermatix. As soon I get the all clear in 3 weeks, I intend to use them to help fade my scars.
At the moment, rosehil oil is only what I've allowed to use. (I'm nearly 3 weeks post op)
