hiya!!
i had my first appointment with the nurse the other day and she cleaned my scars and put dressings back on and said to shower and change them every day and she said when the dressings have nothing on them and theyre dry to stop putting them on. has anyone else been told this? the scars are not leaking at all and the dressings have been dry for a couple of days now so iv not put anything on the scars this morning but i feel wierd not putting any thing on them to cover them. i didnt get given steri strips xx

I had my appointment with the nurse after 13 days to have my sitches removed. After that I could shower as normal (couldn't have a bath or go swimming for 6 weeks) I didn't have anything on my scars at all. I put nothing on them, patted them dry after a shower with a clean towel and put a clean sports bra on after each daily shower. At 6 weeks I massaged the scar with bio oil. Mine have healed brilliantly. Your nurse did say when they were dry not to put anything on them so I wouldn't worry.

Same here. As soon as the steri strips came off in the shower I didn't put anything on. I was advised to use rosehip oil but a lot of surgeons say don't use anything till 6 weeks.
