Scars
Hi, had my dressings removed yesterday at 10 days post op and my scars looked great, the nurse who removed them commented on them saying my surgeons work is always excellent & I was really chuffed. Have noticed tonight that the right one has become raised and feels a little bit lumpy compared to the left. It isn't red or itch or anything and I'm probably pestering for nothing but I'd rather be sure. Thanks x

Re: Scars
Mine are slightly lumpy in places to the touch which I thought was normal- but not really visably lumpy I don't think. I'm pleased too!
Were you advised to massage? That will encourage lumps to decrease as far as I understand it.

Re: Scars
Lumpy scars are normal early post-op lovely and this early in your recovery I really shouldn't imagine you'd have been advised to massage them at all at just 10 days. its far too early babe. This is generally advised from about 4-6 weeks depending on the wound healing.
When you're able to massage the scars you will then start to gently break down the scar tissue which is the lumpiness you feel at first babe, but this does flatten out to a nice heat line eventually with no bumps at all. Xx

I've been massaging since 10 days as advised. I was quite suprised & asked twice to make sure. Yes was the answer - with aqueous lotions or an oil and twice a day for 5 minutes at a time.
