Very sore.....

Hiya ladies,

Just wanted to ask to those of you who had the nipple incision, im now just over 2 weeks post op and i understand its still early days but my nipple's are very very sore, tender to touch and even tender when clothing touches them, Very sore..... Icon_eek

is this still very normal at this stage? and when is it lively to start getting better?.

I had an uplift Emma so of course my nipples were cut around. It is normal for them to be sensitive hun, it just nerve sensation you're experiencing. Try cushioning your nipples by placing something soft between your nipples and bras to stop the bras or anything else rubbing against them.

I used make-up pads, the little circular ones, I had only one nipple causing me quite a bit of discomfort and it drove me mad! Mine lasted for for quite a few weeks, left then came back again!... not pleasant babe I know, but it does get better. xxx

Thankyou for your advice, i will use the makeup pads as u suggested :)
Thought it was normal but its driving me nuts Very sore..... Icon_eek

Hi Emma. I hadn't even realised you had your incisions there. I had mine underneath but my stitches are quite sore if they rub on anything. I would imagine that yours are more likely to rub and become tender there.

I'm sure what Cookie says makes sense though and it will get better xxx

Yeah i had the 3-9 cut.... my cuts r ok its more the nipple above thats very tender lol.
Driving me nuts lol.

You could also get a pack of breast pads - they relly helped me when breastfeeding not only for leaks bt for tender, sensitive nipples too.

Sorry you're in such discomfort Emma, I would suggest breast pads too (you can get them from Asda) or nipple covers. I got some as my aerola and nipples were super sensitive PO especially the first few weeks and these really helped!

It does get better hun, hang in there Very sore..... 571992

i know exactly what you're going thru, emma....i had an uplift as well as unders, and my nipples are so so sore!! i've used cookie's advice on the little circular make up pads to cushion them against my bra

it feels like someones sticking pins in them doesnt it? makes me jump out of my flippin skin!!

Hiya. I'm doing really well thanks. I've stuck some steri strips back on now and am going to leave them there and not look at the scars! Hopefully by the time they fall off I will see an inprovement in my scars. :dunno:

It'll be worth it when you are all healed up and have virtually invisible scars! yahoo

Hey chick my nipples are still incredibly tender and oversensitive and i didnt even have a nipple incision! lol x

Me three Soph and Sally... I use the round cotton wool make up pads in my bra too, also because my over sensitive nipps are very pokey and the pads hide that too!!

Thankyou all for your advice :)..... I have that too Zoeb i always look like im cold lol.
Will definatly try these things out, its not too painful but sometimes my 7 month old taps them when im giving him his bottle ( he has a tapping habit) and that rearly hurts.

Hi Emma,
I'm getting this & all around my boobs it's awful & i hate it.
Just a question, i've just got out the shower & 1 of my incisions is weeping a little, i don't know if i should do anything or not, any ideas?

Ohhhh i know its such a pain, and another thing i always look cold too lol..... very embarasing Very sore..... Icon_eek

If i was you id call you PS or your nurse and ask them.... not too sure myself hun as never had wheeping, but always best to check with the experts.
