Re: Massaging the scars
My PS suggested manukka honey, and said it has amazing healing properties.....quite expensive compared to regular honey mind! I saw some in Morrisons a little while back and it was almost £9 !!
I never got to put his recommendation into practice though....my wound breakdown was sooo bad, I couldnt have possibly put anything on their except dressings....but since im 2 wks out from having a re-do, and have fresh (closed) scars....I may just nip and get me a jar...

Re: Massaging the scars
Haha one of the reasons i didnt try it Hattie !! like I said above...my wounds were too open to apply anything directly to them...and having to apply dressings 3-4 times a day....can you imagine the mess ?? eww.... may do in the future....must be something in the theory, my PS couldnt rate it highly enough.

Re: Massaging the scars
i was told by ps to use bio oil and dermatix from 4 weeks onwards 2 - 3 times a day.
found that you can buy dermatix 1/3 price on e bay - is a ailcone treatment for scar reduction.
ithe best thing i have noticed to reduce the redness is to go for a swim - from 6 weeks i have being going every other day and the reduction in redness is amazing - i am assuming it is the chlorine in the water - but brilliant reults and would recomend to everyone.
