Am i right in thinking you have to stop drinking alcohol before your op?
If so when do you stop and when can you start again? xx

Re: alcohol
I was told no drinking or smoking for 48 hours before but to try and cut it out 2 weeks before.
I don't drink very often but went out with friends on the Saturday night before my op (which was on the Tuesday) and drank a fair amount and I was fine.

Re: alcohol
Thanks Marie, reason I ask, is its my friends birthday, and we plan to go out 5 days before my op.
There s talk of coctails etc, i know i could go easy, but dont wana risk drinking too much, rather just not drink. xx

Re: alcohol
You'll be fine hun. Like I said, I drank 3 days before my op and had no problems.
It depends on what you feel happy with.
I say you should enjoy your night out, you won't be in the mood for partying for a little while after your op!
