Chest (band) size problems
hi ladies, hope everyone is well!!
Just a quick question about chest/ band sizing... I've been measured a couple of times now and both times my chest size has been measured at 30/32. I bought 1 size 30 from John Lewis but it was so tight it hurt me and I took it back. All my others I've stuck to a size 32, but even those are making me so uncomfortable and leaving red marks under my boobs all the time, I have a 34 sports bra from marks and spencer and even this does it. Do you think I just have really sensitive chest/ rib cage? Before my BA I always wore a 34 band and never had any problems.
When I initially put the bras on they feel fine, I have enough room to put my fingers under the band too, but after an hour or so all I want to do is take it off. Surely at 4 months PO I can't still be suffering from swelling? My actual boobs feel fine most of the time, it's literally just the band round my ribs that's hurting.
Any thoughts or advice most welcome, has anyone else experienced this? xxx

Re: Chest (band) size problems
I've got some bad news for you - this is how a bra is meant to fit! It has to be tight to support them, like, 90% of the support comes from the band. You're still early into wires, and it does take some getting used to. But eventually you'll find 'the one' that is...well, I wouldn't say comfortable, but tolerable!! If its OMG cant breath, then yes, go up a band, but it really does have to be tight and stable.

Re: Chest (band) size problems
I was always wearing a 32 band size and I got measured into a 30 band but I thought it was too tight too. She said it stretches so needs to start off tight and put two fingers under etc. I've not tried to wear it for any length of time as the cup size was too small so sent for a size bigger but I can imagine it takes some getting used to.

Re: Chest (band) size problems
I get a clearvage on my back if I wear a 32!
Yet when I measure round my band I'm 31, so must be right, right?
But like you [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], I just so used to wearing a 34. And HATE the bumps a 32 makes when my clothes are over and you can see lumps allover the place.
Iv been a greedy goat though and put weight on as of late, so maybe this is my real issue lol!
Hope you get sorted

Yes I agree with charlii. I think you get so used to having a bra that don't fit properly that when you put on one that does it feels tight. I had the same thing. Now I have got used to it I love it. When I take my bra off I'm left with marks where it has been. Xx

Re: Chest (band) size problems
I've always got marks when I take mine off, and I've got pasty Irish skin, so it's super attractive! But red marks is normal. Blue isn't, that's when it's too tight!!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], who told you that? Seems an odd way to put it. All bras should be worn on the loosest clasp when new, maybe middle if up from your normal size. Then as they stretch with wear and tear, you tighten in.

Re: Chest (band) size problems
Thanks everyone! Sounds like I'm just gonna have to grin and bare it then, hopefully in time I will get used to it too. I was considering trying a few 34 bands but I know most of the support comes from the band area so I guess I should stick with the 32 and see how I get on. Having broken ribs right now isn't helping either.... Nothings ever easy it lol xxx

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - I've put weight on too since my BA, once my ribs have healed I'm gonna start back swimming and get myself back into shape before my belly sticks out further than my boobs again hahaha. Love your AVI by the way x

Nothing will feel comfy with broken ribs. That hurts big time. But after you have healed make sure you are in the correct band xxxx
