Emotional roller coaster! Empty Emotional roller coaster!

Post by ElleBee91 5th August 2015, 5:39 am

So my pre op is on Friday 4th September at 11:30 and my admission time on the 8th is 12pm! Had a little cry when I opened the letter cause its all seeming rather real now! Can officially say that in 5 weeks I will have new boobs! Keep flitting between being super excited to borderline hysterical  not sure if this is normal or not haha. Have not been this hormonal since I was pregnant! Got my other half worried haha! Keep having nightmares about the op as well which is a delightful bonus I'm hoping that the next month will fly as uber busy with weddings and what not. So the jitters probably won't fully hit till the pre op but hey ho!

Think I have got most things I need just keep feeling like there's stuff I'm missing! What did any of you lovely ladies take your overnight bits in? I wanted a weekend bag but people keep telling me a cabin case will be better.

Also any experience with arnica or bromelain? My surgeon is sitting on the fence about it. Just curious if it was worth investing in!

Thanks in advance my lovelies

It's totally normal to feel all these ups and downs, you're putting your body in the hands of a surgeon and trusting him to achieve what you want. There's going to be a few wobbles!

I took a cabin case but to be honest, didn't need much of it. Change of clothes, dressing gown, few toiletries, bras, and some mags etc.

Arnica is one of those things that no one really agrees on. It's homeopathic, so there's no 'proof' it works, but some women swear by it. Me and my hubs used it for operations, and both still bruised like peaches, so it's entirely up to you

Morning lovey, I think we have all been through what you are going through now. It's the unknown isn't it, so naturally you feel a little anxious. I think comparing it to being pregnant is how I felt too! I was even "nesting" the day before my op...cleaning cupboards and washing the kitchen cupboards...just to keep busy I guess!

Just remember why you booked your ba, and think of how great you are going to feel 6weeks down the line get tight measured and buying all those lovely bra's dance

I bought arnica but only took it for 4 days, then just kind of forgot, I was a day case so not sure about the overnight bag..try the surgeon engine up to, there's a list of what you need on old threads.

And unfortunately  the nightmares re normal too, I had good dreams too though, hopefully  they will kick in soon lol!

It will be fine. Enjoy it, I would say essentials are a v pillow for sleeping on post op, don't forget a cushion for the drive home under your seat belt.  We twines to freshen up a little, mags, I pad,  baseline and a zip up hoodie for way home.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I'm nearly 2 weeks post op now and I was exactly the same! I cried so much leading up to the op day, I didn't feel nervous but obviously it was bothering me! When my actually op day arrived I was totally calm, not nervous at all just looking forward to waking up again :-)
Easier said than done but try not to stress out about it, it'll come round in no time at all!
Good luck xx

What you are feeling is soooo normal! It really is crazy how one minute you are bouncing off the walls and the next worrying like mad. But take all the emotions with a pinch of salt and remember we have all been the same!!

I took arnica tablets, whether they did any good or not I am not entirely sure! I would say go with what your surgeon and YOU are happy with on that one.

Enjoy this time!!!! Enjoy the build up. Try not to worry too much and think about negative points. Think about the beautiful new boobs you are going to have in such a short time, after you have waited so long!!
I took arnica for 2 weeks either side of the op - I didn't have much bruising at all, always ask your surgeon though.
I always pack light, I hate taking stuff I won't use.
I just took a rucksack with
- PJ's
- Throat sweets/lip calm (didn't use)
- Bras x 3 because I didn't know what would be comfortable
- Change of loose fitting clothes
- A gluten free snack just in case I wasn't catered for, boy was I wrong. I had a banquet!!!
- Face wash/tooth brush
- Paper work (didn't need)

That's probably about it, xx

Hi with the arnica thing. I believe that if your blood is a little on the thin side you bruise more. But that's just my belief. Things like alcohol smoking certain foods can contribute towards this. Just be as healthy as you can be. This is only my personal opinion of course about the bruising. Xxx

As [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]! Those two weeks will fly hopefully! It's so hard to look at the positives when you are waiting. My mom keeps asking me how long and its like 5 weeks. Feel like I have been saying five weeks for blooming ever! Have not one ounce of patience me haha! I hope all goes well for you hunno please keep us posted! I hate needles too! I'm just gonna close my eyes until its all over I think! Think the end result will be totally worth it and I bet we won't believe how silly we acted haha!

And thanks [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and @anneritchrley input greatly appreciated! I'm going to pack light for the hospital. I'm hooing to be asleep most of the time I'm there as I hate the places haha. Throat sweets sound like a good idea hadn't thought of those! I was desperate for them after my last ga didn't even register this time around! And I think I have decided to trust my body to do what it needs to do on its own! If its horrendous nursing for a while its not like I'm going to be flashing them at anyone for a while lol especially with having a lift too! Xx
