Roller coaster
Hello lovely ladies, hope you are all well and everyone with new boobies is feeling ok?!
I'm now day 6 after my op and although I had thought earlier in the week that I had no swelling, yesterday and today my right boob has blown up like a balloon, it's the top part. And the swelling seems to be coming round from under my armpit and across the top round into the middle. I've got shooting pains in both boobies but is intense in the right, also the gap seems to be widening
I went to see my gp yesterday to get some more pain killers and she asked for me to go back today to keep an eye on me, got 1 week check togmorrow but am worried that its not normal for swelling to go and then come back?
There's no discharge or blood on dressings, so I suppose no internal bleeding but why would I swell up like this again, can't think I've done anything to damage it, would this happen with cc?
This is a roller coaster ride, I put off having implants as I was worried I would react badly and now I'm thinking I am ???
Xx

Re: Roller coaster
It's not uncommon to swell differently daily and sometimes it's indicative of you doing to much
However it can also be something a bit more serious therefore I would definitely give the clinic or your gp a ring or go and see and them

Re: Roller coaster
Have you been overdoing hunny? You may not think it at the time but later on it can result it swelling and being a bit more uncomftable. Remember you're still so early post op, Ice packs may help x

Re: Roller coaster
Had ice packs on all day long and got compression band on too, went back to gp earlier and she's going to call thg and ask advice.
It's strange as I don't feel I've done anything to cause it, I've been a good girl and apart from turning the light on I've literally been on the bed for a week.
Lets hope tomorrows check up is more positive, thanks for your support though girlies, most appreciated xxx

Hi Hun, an ok, that can also cause a problem being completely inactive, you still need to be getting up and moving about ie. bit of gentle walking ( don't mean long walks but just round the house if you don't feel ip for going out)
Staying mobile will help your recovery sweetie. Just no going mad or over doing it though. X

Re: Roller coaster
Is it possible you may have over stretched? This does generally happen if like Kay said you've overdone things in some way. Ensuring the boob is well supported and stable usually helps hun and it does settle down in a couple of days.
I'd personally call your clinic yourself though if your concerned and arrange to go and see them just for a quick check-up. Xx

Hi Emily
Please dont worry hun I know its hard not too. I have one boob larger than the other for about 2 weeks as when i was in the hospital I had to get up several times to go to the toilet and the nurses were pulling me up by my laft arm and this caused the boob to swell . My surgeon also said that it could take weeks for it to level out, im now 3 weeks post opp and its nearly the same size as my right. I would call your clinic yourself like cookie said as they will advise you better than you GP.
