Wound checks Empty Wound checks

Hey guys,

Reading the various threads, it looks like most of you have had some kind of wound check 1 week or so post surgery.

I'm scheduled to see my surgeon for the first of two follow-up appointments 2 weeks after surgery (second one will be at 3 months) but I am not scheduled to see anyone before that at all. So this means no wound check, no dressings change until then.

Is this normal? Do you think I ought to request a wound check between now and then?

Thanks,

Hello

I'm due to have my ba next week on Friday and I've already discussed about the 1 week checkup to see how the wound is healing, I'll have an appointment on May 1st (exactly 1 week after ba). I think it's important. You should talk to them and request a 1 week check up 2 weeks seems too long to wait to change dressing etc.

It's normal for YOUR surgeon!
I was 2 weeks for first check up and now 3 months too!!
he did say that if there were any concerns to go back sooner and if he unhappy with something he would ask be back inbetween.
At 1 week the incisions are still so fresh.. By 2 they can start to see the healing taking place.

Although I only had BA, if you pm me I'll send you my details to my picture trail and you can see my incisions at 2 weeks :) x

I replied with my details :)
I wouldn't worry about when they are.
I was so happy that mine were with the surgeon and not a nurse, made me feel he really cared what his work looked like! xx
