Are antibiotics standard?
Hi, I was wondering if you were given antibiotics as standard when you had surgery? Thanks x

Thanks girls I was hoping they were just to cover the infection risk. I'll ask about it at my pre op x

I was given a large dose along with GA but none to take afterwards. Think antibiotics are pretty standard now a days for most op's unless you have health issues where they are not advised.

Some have them just in the hospital, some are sent home with them. It's normally precautionary. I had a 5day course after I think.

Absolutely make sure you mention this to them, both the penicillin and yeast intolerance, to make sure they give you the right type of meds.
