Support from sports bra at night.
Hi girls. I'm coming up to 5weeks post op and everything is starting to feel a bit loose again, presumably due to swelling going down etc. I noticed however that my boobs weren't supported at all last night as soon as I laid down. Has anyone else found this? Is this normal? Or is this a sign that I'm needing more support? Xx

What sports bra are you wearing at the moment? And what size? If it's strafing to feel a bit loose around the bad you may need to go down a band size. X

Before my op my surgeon advised that I'd need low impact sports bras and he recommended asdas. I thought they were okay at first but now I feel they're not really supporting me properly so I invested in a triumph triaction extreme but unfortunately was the wrong size so Ibe had tor return it and am now waiting for the new one so am just using the asda ones. I know these aren't ideal but I was wondering are sports bras meant to feel supportive at night as I can't see how they can support your boobs when you're lying down but maybe I'm just being a bit thick!! What's normal? Xx

You need to figure out the difference between the natural 'flop' and support. It could be that theyre starting to get more natural movement, which means when you lie down they will fall to the sides more, rather than bolted on the front. But yes, it may well be that all your swelling has gone now, and theyre starting to change shape, so its worth trying a new size.

If your surgeons advised low impact support for you H, I really wouldn't be putting high impact support bras on.
The Asda bras as advised by your surgeon are fine at first, but as you've found, after a couple of washes they lose all support and there's nothing left for you there.
I'd personally just purchase another Asda bra as advised by your surgeon. When advised to wear low impact bras it's because your boobs are pretty tight so your surgeon doesn't want the support of a bra because the tightness of your skin and muscle if you had partials are support enough and they will drop and settle naturally.
So stick with your Asda bras babe. They cost very little so as they lose their support, they're cheap enough to just get another as you need to. Xx

Ah okay thankyou! It's so difficult knowing what size to get as an holding off from being measured until at least 6 weeks so feel like I'm doing this blind! Thanks for the help though :) xx

You could try measuring yourself as a rough guide and a starting point to getting a good fit? Just measure where you bra strap goes to get your band size and then the difference between this and the measurement around your fullest part of your chest will get you your cup size, e.g. 1 inch =A, 2=B, 3=C....
