Support from sports bra?
Morning girls. Quick question. How do you know if your sports bra is giving you the support you need? I'm three weeks po today and now that the swelling seems to be going down I'm wondering if my sports bra is giving me the support I need as it seems bigger suddenly! X

You should be able to feel if it is or not. Is it now loose? Are your boobs sore? If you don't feel you're getting the right support, it's likely the swelling has reduced and you need to move to a smaller band size now.

My boobs are really sore to be honest but I don't know if that's just being post op or not! The band does feel looser, I've done it up on the next clip in to see if that helps. Thanks Charlii, will see what happens! Xx

It seems a lot of us lose lots of swelling around 3 weeks. Maybe see how it goes today and perhaps get some different ones. It could be that washing them has made them lose their support a bit too x x

Re: Support from sports bra?
If your band is loose your not getting any support at all hun.
With bras and support bras ALL the support comes from the band. So if your band allows for more than just two fingers under it, you need a new bra.
Your sportsbra should feel snug, but not tight. If it's causing you pain in the cups, then it's likely too small in the cup and you need go up a cup size. If there indents from the bra seam but it's not uncomfortable, that's fine don't worry about it.
If you're at all concerned maybe a trip out to get fitted into a new sportsbra if you feel up to it might be best.
This is very often the problem with front fastening bras, you've no back up if the fits wrong after swelling and why I do always advise buying at least back fastener in the size your surgeon determines for you along with a bra extender. They're great for both comfort and support. Xx

Thanks girls. You've all been very helpful. Just wondering Jen23 what bra did you go for in the end? I remember you having the same problem a little while back? Xx
