Holiday help
Hi girls I'm 5 weeks po and off to Egypt tomorrow. I have quiet a few dresses that require no bra! I'm only sitting about in the evenings doing nothing. Is that occasionally ok? Also bikinis are not over supporting. I will be taking my sports bras but with summer clothes they don't always work. Any tips would be great!! My scars will not be on show. Also do you feel pressure in your boobies on the airplane? Xxx

Re: Holiday help
You won't even notice your boobs at all on the plane, don't worry about that.
Years ago there a rumour that circulated that the pressure within the plane could burst Breast implants.
What a load of bull! It's all rubbish. You'll feel no more of your Breast surgery on that plane than you would if you cut your finger - that's nithing hun!
As for not wearing your sportsbra on holiday. Well, if you didn't get the all clear from your surgeon before leaving and and still need to be wearing it, then it's advisable you do.
You can buy crop tops now and match those with bikini bottoms to wear when swimming. Your sportsbra will be well hidden under the crop top. Again, a crop top with a maxi skirt or some palazzo pants looks good.
It's, so, very important to follow your surgeons instructions sweetheart. We've all had times when it's not been convenient to wear a sportsbra when going somewhere, but we've had to adapt whatever it was we wanted to wear to accommodate the sportsbra and with a little imagination it cN always be done.
A nice pashmina could help hide your bra with a dress or a top...or maybe adapting the holiday wardrobe to something more appropriate to hide your bras.
I know it's not the best advise you wanted to read babe, but without the all clear from your surgeon it's the best advise for your boobs. After paying all that money and waiting all this time, a weeks holiday without your bra could prove pretty costly...... Xx

Re: Holiday help
Have a great time, only thing id add is ask about the swimming pools, your insions may not be fully healed at only 5 weeks and submerging them isn't usually advised especially in a public pool.
Just one to maybe ask your surgeon . X
As for sports bras you can buy shock absorbers and the m and s zip front in different colours.

Re: Holiday help
That's actually a very good comment. Incisions are very prone to infection and public pools saunas and jacuzzis are the worst places for picking up infections. At five weeks you may well be fine, but it as Mrsball quite rightly picked up its so important to have the surgeons all clear.mrsball wrote:Have a great time, only thing id add is ask about the swimming pools, your insions may not be fully healed at only 5 weeks and submerging them isn't usually advised especially in a public pool.

Re: Holiday help
I won't be going in pools or anything. Not risking that. The surgeon said I could go topless if I wanted but won't be doing that as don't want to bear my insicions. So I guess I had the all clear to go without a bra in the day. I will be wearing a halter neck bikini top. He just told me no lugging suitcases . He knows I'm going on holiday. I will try my best to wear a bra even if it's my black macom. Thanks for the tips girls and I hope my husband don't trade me in for a camel with bigger humps than me. Xxxxx

Re: Holiday help
Have a lovely time! I would say if you've been given the all clear go with what you feel is comfortable! You may find bra-less makes them ache so play it by ear and support them whenever you can, such as overnight. I went away 6 weeks post op and found my m&s and Lonsdale sports bras hide well under vests. And lazing around a pool hopefully won't be too labour intensive so I'm sure your bikini will be fine. If you do struggle I considered a surfer rash vest over the top of a sports bra but never needed it. And the camels may have bigger humps but no one wants hairy humps do we!!

Re: Holiday help
My after are says no swimming for 12 weeks so won't be doing that. But my surgeon is aware of me wearing no bra in the day on the beach. I will wear support bra at night. Xx

Re: Holiday help
If you don't have the triumph triaction extreme sports bra and need a bra you can wear with almost everything bar skinny straps or strapless then this is a must have bra. It's a lot more low cut than other sports bras and therefore makes your wardrobe much easier to wear. I've tried MANY sports bras over the years and would always recommend this one. I loved the lower cut and thinner straps. But because straps and band are cushioned too it was easy to wear and super comfy. So this a bra I'd definitely recommend to wear with holiday wear
Enjoy your jollies sweetie. Xx

Re: Holiday help
Hey Anne! Sometimes I feel like my boobs need a rest from my sports bra in the evening, so I go braless for a bit, after the kids are in bed and thing else has to be done but sit :)
My surgeon said that was OK at 4 weeks, obviously yours might think differently.
I think, maybe not every night, but you might feel comfortable doing it sometimes. Personally I knee when I had had enough and needed to put my bra back on :) xx
