Re: going on holiday after op
Most surgeons say you can't fly short haul for 2weeks and long haul 4weeks. But people who have had surgery abroad have flow home after a couple of days. I don't know the type of holiday you have in mind but for 6weeks at lest (maybe longer as your having an uplift) you will have to wear your bra. No swimming or exposing your scars to the sun either. I only had a ba so don't know if things vary more when you have an uplift too. x

Re: going on holiday after op
Like I said I only had a BA so can only give you my experience of that. I went on holiday about 9weeks post op by which time I was able to swim, wear bikini's and sunbathe. I had to keep my scars completley covered though as sunlight can make the scars dark.
I've never heard it being 6months before but surgeons are different and as your having an uplift that could be why. x

I havent had my ba yet, but was told by my surgeon 6 weeks before i could do any flying and to keep scars covered for a year after. But could swim after 6 weeks. So like the girls have said it depend on your surgeon, i would ask him. x

Re: going on holiday after op
I had my BA 11 days ago and I am going to Tenerife on Tuesday (16days post op) My surgeon said it would be fine as its only a short flight.
I had my check up with the nurse 2days ago and she said as my scars were healing well it wouldn't be a problem. She even said as long as I get waterproof dressing for my scars that I could go in the water - but not swim (as that would be exercise - need to wait 6weeks until you can swim) but she said I could go in the water.
I'm not sure if I dare do that - but I told her I would be blaming her if I get any infections!!

i was told at 5 weeks i could go swimming etc...so i would hold off th hol as long as you can cos u dont wana get there and not be allowed in the water! its usually 6 weeks for a ba, not sure about a lift too, but it all depends on how well you r healing babe. xxx

Re: going on holiday after op
I had an BA & Uplift hun.
The general post-op instruction will be -
1-2 weeks post-op first post-op appointment for wound check, if things are fine, you'll come back for your 6 week post-op check with your surgeon, if not you may have to return weekly for your check-ups to the nurse feels you're healling well.
second post-op check will be 6 weeks post-op with your surgeon.
3rd post-op check - 6 months post-op
Final post-op check - 1 year post-op.
For 6 weeks you will not be able to submerge your new boobs in water, especially water in public places, your wounds are very much still prone to infection and people using pools don't generally give a toss what infections they may have, imagine all that dirt and waterver else from other people are in that water and then imagine a new wound in there... not a nice thought is it?....
You'll need to keep the entire breast area fully covered as the breast will be ultra sensitive to the sunshine as the skin will have been stretch to capacity to accomodate the new implants and that stretched skin will burn so easily.
The scars will very much need covering too, new scars will go brown in the sun, the sun will cause pigmentation of the skin which will form a big brown anchor on your boobs rather than a very faint line which is hardly noticeable.
If you can keep entirely covered on the breast area and just stick to paddling in the pool rather than swimming, you'll be fine hun. xx

Re: going on holiday after op
I am off on holiday in 1 week and have been advised to keep the scars covered and use factor 50 on any breast area that is not covered to protect the stretched skin. No swimming for me - was also told 6 weeks so it's the kids pool for me. X

Re: going on holiday after op
I'm actually on hol at mo in Dubai (not bragging), and it's not fun not being able to swim/dip in sea. I'm having to wear my granma looking swimsuit to make sure my bellybutton scar covered. Can't go in water still recovering from infection on my TT.
Plus this is a religious country so can't show my baps off in public.
This is not a proper holiday, this one for the kids
