Hi camilla, I'm exactly the same. It's like a toothache in my back all the time. It's normal !!!! It's a combination of slouching forward to try and protect yourself and sleeping position. Try and stand up strait and relax rather than staying tense! It's just something we do . Our boobs are tight and hurt so we are tense. Try going for a gentle walk and try to relax and keep your posture right. Xxxx

Hi , there is a fine line between resting and not doing enough. . I rested but for the first couple of days I tried to walk around the house a bit. It won't hurt you to have a gentle 10 minutes walk . Be carful you don't cease up. Also a gentle walk will help with water retention and swelling . I'm sure someone else will be along soon to give you more advise! I try to be active without overdoing it. Hope this helps and let me know how you get on . Xxxx

Slowly try and straighten your posture, but don't rush it, or you might pull something. Also, give your back some support when sitting or lying down, pop a cushion behind you, and one under the knees too. Might help give some relief.

I know this may sound a bit funny but....
I felt like I really needed a good stretch, and like I was ready for it without being in pain etc, but I was scared of my incisions. My husband kind of pushed some of my skin on my ribs up towards my boobs so I could lean back a bit and stretch without feeling tight on my incisions. It really helped :) even tho I only must have leaned back an inch or so, it felt so good after being hunched x

Maybe some slow roll downs from a standing position will help stretch out your back. Once you're a bit more active I'm sure it will improve!

Sometimes in the evening my back gets sore too. I lay on the floor in front of the fire for 20 mins or so, it really helps me stretch my back out flat. I can't get the same stretch in bed!

Re: My back is killing me:/
Get yourself a hot water bottle on your back Camilla. The heat does help with the pain. It's all down to the 'being propped up' sleeping position' as well as hunching which we all instinctively do to protect our boobs.
If you wrap your hogwash bottle in a towel and place it in the small of your back when resting with a pillow under your knees as Charlii suggested, the heat will help the muscles, the rolled towel will give support for the small of your back and the pillow under your knees takes away the pressure from your back.
If you're going to stretch, whatever you do don't stretch your arms up.
Be aware of your posture when standing. You will instinctively hunch as I said, but if you make yourself aware of that and slowly straighten up it will start to get better.
Also, the sleeping part - MANY women think being 'propped up' means being sat up - it doesn't. All you need is your head and shoulders raised higher than your chest. So 'if' you are sat up, this will play awful havoc with your back.
Hope it eases up soon. Xx
