For the pain I can only advise painkillers hun and just take it easy. Your body is telling you it wants to rest, best thing is to listen to it.
As for the bloating - I think everyone gets that. The GA and painkillers can 'stop you going' plus the GA apparently has a bloating effect. Lots of water, walk around (hunched if necessary) as much as you can. The bloating does go away

Hi hun, with one thing and another, I couldn't go for 6 whole days! Talk about mega bloat. I am getting nipple pain but only in leftie and only when I walk about! I'm sure it's the incisions healing. I'm sure you're healing nicely, you can get lots of needed reassurance at your post op check. Xxx

Bloating! Tell me about it! I'm 9 days post op and still really bloated! I've put on 3 inches on my tummy, I know this because I measured beforehand! I think I've got around an inch left until I get back to normal, measurement wise, but I still feel like a whale, so you're not alone with the whole bloating thing! Like you said, its just gonna take a while to get out of our systems.
My scars hurt a little too but I think this is just normal and giving a good indication thy are knitting back together again. Just got to be aware of temp fluctuations and any seeping on to the dressings (yuk!).

Oh the bloating... it was the worst part for me, my tummy was is agony for days! It is very normal and is the result of the GA and the strong pain killers... drink lots of water, pepermint tea helps too... also food with fibre to get "things" moving again... I ate a few prunes each day and got me using the loo again. Dont worry its very normal and will pass soon!

Re: Insision is killing me!
Hey hun
Sorry to hear you are uncomfortable. I was always told to treat each boob as a separate operation. I always had one boob that seemed to play catch up with the other. As far as the pain is concerned, it all seems normal. I was in pain for a minimum of a week and needed help when getting out of bed etc and I had overs. It will get easier I promise.
I didn't really suffer with being bloated after my GA which I was pleased about so can't comment on that. Perhaps windeze tablets or plenty of fruit may do the trick.

Re: Insision is killing me!
Could it be the sports bra rubbing the incision hun? maybe try padding the band out a bit near the incision to stop any discomfort, or try a bigger band size if the one you are wearing feels over tight. Other than that, just keep on top of pain killers and get plenty of rest, sleep is the best aid to healing.
It will pass though and will all be worth it.

Is the pain coming from your actual incision hun? or do you feel like it's the top of your ribs under your boobs?
If it's your incision it's knitting back together hun and sometimes as the nerve endings heal they can be painful.
If it's right at the top of your ribs this is normal too, try to stand straight when walking around hun and don't hunch if you can help it. Be sure to keep up with pain meds too.
The bloating is all also normal hun, make sure you're drinking lots of water and eating lots of fresh fruit and veg.... walking also helps lots too, short walks at first if you're not doing so well but walking is a must! You really must get yourself up and moving about babe, it's help with the bloating but also with your recovery too.
I'm presuming you'll be seeing your clinic soon for your post-op check? If you're still suffering so much pain from an incision hun, it may be best to ask for advice from your clinic at your check-up. xxx
Re: Insision is killing me!
Hi mrsrimmer,
I had a really painful incision a few days after my surgery. It was really painful all the time, I was actually doubled over with pain. I was only comfortable when laying down. I took painkillers which didn't help by the way! It lasted for 2 days, then I woke up on third day and felt fine! So my advice is just keep resting, hopefully it won't last long. x

Re: Insision is killing me!
Hi Hun,
Id say pain in the incision is normal along woth the bloating & swellin that i have to admit i was not at all prepared for post-op lol!
I struggled to get in the same jeans i went in for my op as my waiste ballooned............im a 28-30band size & I wore a 34 band sized sports bra for quite a few weeks due to swelling & bloating around my ribcage. I litrally woke up one morning around 5 weeks post op & could fot my whole hand up under my 34 band & it didnt suppot me anymore so i then switched to a 30G band sports bars as all the swelling & bloating just dissapeared.
I hurt quite badly for id say the 1st two weeks hun & then at the two week mark i finally started to feel myself again.
All girls are different in how there body copes.....some girls have there op & then a day later are posting that they feel fab & even went shopping which i find shocking as there was no way i could have done that as i struggled to move! lol & some girls are like me & feel like crap & hurt quite a bit ..........then you have the girls who are in the middle with slight pain but other then that feel fine.
It will get better Hun & for me the 2 week mark was the real turning point.
Hope you feel better soon x
