Dressings off! :)
Hey girls, went to see my surgeon today. Had my dressings off.
He said he was really pleased with my progress and couldn't believe how well my incisions had healed and that he couldn't expected to be doing any better than I am.
He isn't worried about my righty acting up and reckons I shouldn't lose any size.
I feel really happy about it all, although it kind of freaked me out seeing my scars. I don't think I expected them to be raised. Did anyone else feel the same?
Anyway, back just after xmas for another check up :)
Jen x

Many women get freaked out by their scars Jen, so you're definitely not alone there. You'll get better with them the more you see them and they'll get better too over time and wil end up just a small flat silver line that's almost invisible to anyone who didn't know you'd had a BA.
Glad all has gone well on your first check up babe. Xx

I agree Jen! It's hard to explain but I have a bit of boob fear lol, I take my bra off for my strip wash but rush to get dry and put it back on....almost like my boobs will fall off without the bra! I also check my dressings and imagine my scars popping open (maybe I'm mad) lol xx

I think I'll be like that lol, it was bad enough when I had my arm bone shortened in my arm, when they took cast off it was stitched inside and skin glued together on top. Thought it would open up lol x x

Thats how I feel mi55, like they might fall off.
Ive been brave recently tho and taken my bra off for a bit when im sitting down in the evening. My first shower I had a panic attack when I took off my bra, had to get out of the shower still soapy while hubby put my bra on cuz I was shaking so badly. I think I just felt really vulnerable x

Jen I feel a bit like that. But havnt said it out loud lol. I suppose it just takes time to get used to. I almost had a grizzle over my old boobs too! I love my new ones but I was thinking about my little old ones being gone forever. I've had some funny things going around my head xx

Re: Dressings off! :)
Oh :( ive been feeling a bit down too.its bound to be normal, right?
I think for me,it not being able to do what im used to. My shoulder is sore from not being able to stretch very much (for fear of hurting my incisions)
I did wonder for a minute why I was even putting myself through this.
Im sure we all must have moments like this, mustnt we? X x

Re: Dressings off! :)
Well let's pretend it's normal Jen! :) I have more happy/pleased days than down but not being able to cuddle my kids and pick the bub up really upset me. You can't get the time back, so just 2 wks of not being a hands on mum did me no favours!
I think most people struggle with change, we've had big surgery really, and recovery really isn't over night. I think I thought I'd just be fine and crack on.
I'm really glad I've found someone who feels a little like me :) big hugs Jen xx

Aaw, thats lovely :) me too! I think if we are all honest, we all feel a bit like this at some point.
Its a lot to get used to! Normally body changes happen gradually, we workout and see the changes happening.if we lose weight, we can modeller or put back on, depending how we feel. This is a massive thing, with instant results.
And yr right about the kids, thats hard! Not being able to climb on my smallests bunk at night for a big squish is hurting :( we've taken to group hugs right now, still as satisfying (almost) but with not as much chest pressure lol <3 x x x
