Ok ladies,
I've got big white dressing over my incisions and one has come really loose and has rolled up a bit, and underneath I can see what looks to be maybe steri strip or tape over my actuall incisions :-(
Absolutely crapping myself about infection now because anything can get in under the dressing and to where this tape is over my incisions !!
Should I just give the clinic a call tomorrow or try and sticky tape down this dressing ?
( I only have cello tape here nope)

I would say if there is tape over your steri strips that will be ok, but give clinic a call anyway. Don't panic .i wouldn't use cello tape xx

Have you any micropore tape there Roses? Do not remove the dressings whatever you do. It doesn't matter that you have steristrios it's the wound itself you don't want to disturb, so if you have micropore there just tape the dressings back on yourself. They'll be fine. But definitely do not remove them babe. X

Call in the morning but I'm sure you're fine. I had steri strips over my incisions and nothing else! For the first week there was about 4 steri strips over each incision and at 1 week I had a dressing change to just 1 along the incision. I never had a dressing pad over them. My incisions were closed with dissolvable stitches and glue so not sure if this makes a difference!

If you can, pop to a chemist or supermarket and get some micropore tape to stick it back down with. And yes, give them a bell in the morning. Like above, don't be tempted to pick it off or have a peek.

They should be just fine Hug
As you have said they already have micropore covering them plus the dressing , it's not unusual for dressing to come unstuck & you have done the right thing by leaving the dressing & just sticking it back down with more micropore tape.
Let us know how it all goes tomorrow. XXX

Morning ladies,
Dressings have been taking off this morning by the nurse, also the steri strips were removed and then fresh applied after a wipe with some kind of antibacterial swab/wipe,
And wow I was so shocked at the scars ! Tiny neat thin lines I thought they'd be huge ! One of the incisions was dotted with fresh blood but that's where the steri strip was taken off I think,
So anyways, need to leave tjese current steri strips on until at least the end of the week then I can't remove them, I've got the all clear for showers asking as I make doubly sure there thoroughly dried afterwards
Fingers crossed all stays this well hey

That's good news you got your dressing sorted. You'll be fine in the shower, just have a quick wash. It will make you feeling so much better x x

One of my dressings came off completely in the shower around 8 days after my op and I panicked as I thought they were supposed to be waterproof but my surgeon said to just cover with normal plasters as I was due to have them removed two days later anyway and my incisions healed perfectly hun. I didn't shower for the first week tho even tho I was allowed to and was glad I didn't!

I was convinced that they would fall out for my first shower! You'll be fine. Soap across the top of your chest and let the water just run over them. Use a different part of the towel to dab each one, then the cool setting on the hairdryer to get them nice and dry. I've taken this handy tip for drying my new tattoo at the moment too! Hubby was very confused!
