feeling selfish?
Does anyone else have feelings of being selfish or had feelings before your ba? I feel selfish for spending so much money on me? I think it makes it worse because I have a one and a half year old. I'm a single mum but I work as well. I also feel bad that I'm not going to be able to pick him up for 2 weeks? Hope I'm not the only one. So looking forward to my ba but it's overshadowed by these feelings of guilt :( xx

Re: feeling selfish?
Personally, not in the slightest. I earned that money, I'll spend how I please! But, I don't gave littluns. A lot of the women I see come through do have a guilty phase. It's a lot of money you could put towards anything else. But a happy mom makes for a happy child, so if it's what you want, you have to put those feelings aside and go for it!

Re: feeling selfish?
I got a loan with my bank so I guess that's why I feel more guilty but I know I can afford the loan repayments because I work so I guess I shouldn't xx

Re: feeling selfish?
Oh I did the same, all went on credit card, but at the end of the day we're working hard to pay that back. It's a point of pride for me, I was going to pay for it myself. Even when hubs offered to put up half, I turned it down, this was for me. The guilt will pass. It'll take a while, especially post op when you can't have cuddles and stuff. But you'll soon reap the benefits.

Re: feeling selfish?
I understand where you're coming from and have felt the same. It's my money but really my money is also my families money and could have paid for an amazing holiday together. But then life isn't perfect and it will make me happy! I also feel selfish about putting myself through an operation and GA when I don't have a medical need and however small, there are always risks and I have 2 kids. But then it's also risky when I drive to work over the speed limit! I think us mums always find something to worry about and doubt ourselves! Go for it and enjoy the process!

Re: feeling selfish?
Thank you also for your response, very true what you are saying! Yeah the elective surgery part also worries me but like you said there are risks everyday. I am going to stop worrying as like you should the process should be enjoyable and ultimately make me happier. And if I'm happier I'm a better mum to my son. I'll have some money left over anyway so maybe I'll open him a little bank account for when he is older xx

Re: feeling selfish?
Hi sweet, no way are you doing the wrong thing an unhappy mum = an unhappy child. My friend had her boobs done last year, she has a 15 year old and a 3 year old and she funded her boobs with her mums inheritance money. She felt guilty as she could of put it towards a holiday or done something nice with her kids, but i said that the money was left for you and your mum would want you to be happy. I'm getting a bank loan for my boobs but it will be worth it and I'll feel happier and the results will just prove it. I had a squeeze of my friends boobs and they feel really good. Don't ever feel guilty sweet it's your money and your doing it for you to feel better! I'm not going to have any regrets when I get my boobs done I've found a suitable loan and repayment which I'm happy with and I know I can afford. I've promised my 12 year old daughter we can go on a nice beach holiday in tunisia when I get my boobs done, so I'm going to put that on my credit card but it will be worth it! Us ladies need to treat ourselves sometimes!!!

Re: feeling selfish?
I had a 12 month old at the time of the BA personally for me I didn't feel bad about the money it was the not being able to care for him for two weeks I felt extremely guilty for not being able to give him big cuddles when he wanted/needed them! I couldn't even do the normal day to day bits for him felt a huge failure as a mother and worse still that I picked to have it done and be in that situation! All ok now and terror running me ragged! Hopefully the event soon to be forgotten by him xx

Re: feeling selfish?
Hi laural92xx as I've said don't feel guilty. I'm glad you've found a suitable loan I've got one on compare the market and I'm going get booked in at Mya. At least your little one doesn't know about finances and boobs lol I have an honest and open relationship with my 12 year old and have told her why I'm getting my boobs done. I showed her my boobs and she understands why I want them doing

Re: feeling selfish?
Hi, I'm booked in for end of July, my oldest two children did not want to go on holiday abroad this year (dared of missing out on things with their friends), I have been saying for many years that I want a BA so thought I would book this year while they don't want a holiday, all booked now and now I'm starting to feel guilty for spending so much on myself no-one else is bothered. I have now told them we will go away for a few days to a caravan which they love doing anyway. Xx
